Gauging interest for a semi-RP kami guild

Post by cyrish »

I'm debating if I want to start "yet another guild" (tm) on the kami side :)

It'd be a semi-rp one bent on the destruction of karavan... the motto would be something along the lines of "Everyone's our friend till they're not" =) Basically it'd be okay to group and level with whoever... but during outpost battles, karavan = dead.. even if he's your best friend. Once Spire comes out it may or may not be a little more restricted, probably not unless game mechanics force it.

If you like to kill potential allies, go for it. But I don't think you will go well with such a simplified rule. You may want to discuss it with some of the active Kamist guilds. Normally I let myself killed once by friendly fire during an outpost fight, but never twice.

in a religious war, the people who don't believe the same as you are not your allies, they are your enemies who must be stuck down in the name of your god for his glory. War is not pretty, war is not kind, war is not fair.

But this is a MMO and not everyone RPs, so its stupid to say "oh well we're not gonna party with you because your factions different"

But in PvP, its currently guild vs guild. Once spires comes out, its faction vs faction. That means if you're trying to get control over something I want, I will stop you. It doesn't matter if we were playing together OOC, now its an IC thing so don't take it personally.

Will spires cause problems? I can guarentee it. Plenty of people here don't like PvP - hopefully they'll stay neutral. If they pick a faction, they'll have to deal with the side effects of the PvP changes - such as the inability to teleport and the risk of getting killed trying to walk through the other sides terratory.

It's easier to RP some excuse as to why two sides that hate each other would work together than it is not to get upset when you get killed by another player.

So.. yeah, I forgot what my point was. I think it was that no one karavan is a potential allie, and if someone doesn't want to party because you waste them in pvp, that's their problem. PvP Flag on = you ask for it.

anyway.. kami pvp roleplaying guild if enough people are interested

what, no one who plays kami wants to commit genocide? :P

The karavan are a plague on Atys! They must be exterminated like the locusts they are! Their exploitation of the planet must be put to an end while the planet is still able to recover!

hmmm, perhaps I can clear up some confusion here....

You see cyrish, the problem faced by your "kill all karavan" motto is that many guilds who are technically "karavan" (for example dear Trini here) fight quite a bit against other "karavan" (for example proud komissar) due to a differing opinion on what "karavan" means, and whether your race should come before your faction or not.

Basically what trini is saying is, if you kill all "karavan" in an OP battle, you'll probably be killing a few people on 'your side' as well ;)

Well kami or kara no matter really, but...

1. If you are a new player (which you evidently are since you have no idea about invuln. for example) not many people will take your guild seriously.
Have you considered levelling and getting to know the game a bit?

2. Are you sure it's karavan genocide and not the kami genocide that you have in mind? LOL Cause just a couple of days ago you wrote this "Hrm.. your guild sounds interesting Kom, I might just have to find you in game" on these very forums. Mate this doesn't look like ideology at all. This looks like: LETS GO KILL KAMI! no wait... I MEAN KARAVAN!

3. The politics in Ryzom is a ratherintricate and tricky matter you know. If your only desire in game is to get your sword bloody better consult grown-ups... sorry, I mean older players.

You are working on 2 flawed premises here IMHO.

First of all OPs are not "religious wars" - or at least aren't MEANT to be. They are supposed to be GvG. They just ended up being more FvF; although, as Spriteh said, some of the 'Karavan' have helped the 'Kami' guilds. There is no clear cut line between factions where OPs are concerned. Spires MAY be different unfortunately.

Secondly, many of the Kami guilds don't want to exterminate the Karavan. We're happy to co-exist. That's true of Karavan guilds too. Granted both sides have their extremists, but I still don't believe they're the majority and I hope they never will be. You seem to want to be one of them and I hope you remain in the minority.

I speak for one Kami guild when I say my guild will never support you.
