I read a post on here that worries me about the future of Ryzom...

Post by kelarc »

I read a post from April that seemed to pretty much say the company controling Ryzom was having financial trouble and they more or less have 6 months to resolve it... what will happen if they don't? The more I read about this game, the more fun it sounds... but it also sounds like its doomed.

So what's the deal? Is this game worth investing time in? Does it have a future? Or will all my time be for naught in a couple months and I'll have to go find a new MMO to play...

Nevrax entered a financial agreement over a year ago and what you read from April was an extension of that. I don't understand the details. I do understand that Ryzom is a fantastic game which I, and many others, love dearly and we have a lot of fun. And drama ;)

Even if the company did fold up in a couple of months, how could a couple of months enjoying a vast, unique, breathtakingly beautiful virtual world, with lots of other people all trying to have a little fun, be considered a waste of time? If you do then I wonder why on earth you are looking for a MMORPG.

Because there's a difference between leaving a game because you're tired of it and you've done all you can do (like WoW)... and being kicked out of a game when you're only just starting to enjoy it =( It's like why ask someone to marry you when you know they're in love with someone else and planning to leave you... it's setting yourself up for dissapointment.

I do agree the game is absolutly stunning when you crank up the graphics and play it at a high res. And the system is very unique with a lot of promise. I'd just really, really hate to see this game disappear... although I just went to the mathis mainland and I havn't seen a single person... and the two people I saw in the newbie area didn't know how to talk or something =( I'm just hoping its because its 3 am on a thursday.

So, then promote and advertise!!! :D

Get your friends to play it too! The more players the less finacial trouble Nevrax has and the Game continues. Easy,eh? ;)
