why i created "karavan haters"

well i am unable to log on anymore because my sub ran out, and mabey i'll renew in a couple months, but i'm not sure yet.
I made the karavan haters guild and declared on 3 karavan outposts as a test to see what would happen, and mind you i did so without anyone else IG knowing about it, not even my guild who i love all the members of.
I'm not even sure myself what i was testing, mabey i just wanted to see what would become of it and cause a little excitement in my last days on atys, and it seems to have caused a lot more than i expected. I don't appologize for what i did and i don't feel the least bit bad about it. Infact i think it really opened the door to a lot of discussion and arguing about how these alliances and OP and false declarations and how some homins are "2nd class" players for not being involved in a huge aliance are going to be handled by the community in the future.
I started playing 14 months ago and have explored every corner of Atys, met countless homins, killed nearly every beast there is to kill, still i love the game, the living planet, the story, the people, and yes even the war going on. The things though that are making the game not as much fun anymore though is the fact that we were given new content IG, but the powers that be hold very little control over it...it was put IG and the players hold the power to shape and change what we were given. Thats what opened the door to all the greed and problems that so many of you are complaining about in these forums. The first problems i saw were when the OP's first came out, it was a mad rush to get IG after the patch to get your OP...and whoever got to one first felt it was their property forever. That was fine and to be expected. The problem was the bad feelings for those who didn't get there in time, thus getting no OP. That lead to alliances popping up and false declarations being made to protect the OPs from attack. Again bad feelings to those who didn't have an OP...it seemed there was no way for a guild with no OP to get one. Then they fixed the false declaration problem as it pertained to protection against real attacks. Then the alliances started getting bigger in order to protect an OP through shear numbers, and they really got divided along faction lines. soon the biggest guild on the Kami side left the game, leaving the huge alliance on the karavan side to dominate and they instead of using their numbers for defence, used them to take a Kami alligned OP for one of their own.
Thats when things started going downhill in the community IMO. Kami's complained they were outnumbered and felt "cornered", Karas complained the Kamis were whining..as players started getting into PvP and Kamis were looking for Kara tagged players to kill, the Kara started complaining that we were bringing fights to places they didn't like and they would start using their numbers to punish guilds of players fighting in Yrk by taking their OP ifthey wanted to. That all lead up to just a few days ago, when AP's OP was challenged and in the heated discusions about that, the karavan alliance stated that they were tired of Kami complainers and would start systematiclly taking their OP's.
Well enough of the history as seen by me. With all that i said going on, I thought what the hell, lets see what would happen if someone went and declared attacks on 3 big KA OPs at close to the same time as they were going to attack AP's. I would have done so under my own guild name except my guild had nothing to do with what i was thinking and they help out so many new players i didn't want a huge number of players bullying them for my actions, so the best name i could think of to really get things heated up was karavan haters
So what happened was i really pissed off this karavan alliance and they decided that since they didn't know who it was they would just start to kick ass and take names later..target anyone not involved in their group as enemies and show themselves as the elite group on Atys. congratulations guys you are the best. so now what? you can beat anyone else in battle now, you can take any OP you want...where does that leave everyone else? its what created the "second class player" the one who has to plead for a trade from the all powerful around just to get a glimps of the new content IG. and forget about building a guild up strong enough to be a challenge to a current OP holder..with the series of events that followed the release of OPs not only is it wrong to attack an OP, its impossible due to the alliances formed in the wake of them.
well i could probably go on for hours here as i just mainly read the forums and never give my input to them( i think i posted 3 times in the past), but i just thought i'd come out and tell everyone who I am and give a little backround of why i did what i did(although it does make a good mystery of my identity ) I stirred the pot here...I hope everyone learned a little bit from my fake attacks and really think about the direction some players are taking this game..it would be a shame to see this community go downhill anymore than it already has. And remember its not up to the Devs or GMs to fix the OP and alliance problems, its the players..don't let greed and power get in the way of playing this wonderful game..share the wealth a little and get the community back together ..who knows, happy homins just might piss the kitin off enough to give everyone something to fight for.
probably one of the most hated homins on atys now,
Brock, former and hopefully future HO of Riders on the Storm
