Some basic questions from your friendly local newb.

Post by s0lice »

1) Chat interface:
a) When I hit the 'user' tab I can see all the different channels, is there an easy way to talk to the various channels from that one location?

b) After speaking in chat how do I go back to short cut commands such as "p" for profile etc?

2) Friends: Is there a friends list? Is there an easy way to send to a friend who has a name that is far to long to type? :)

3) Magic: When starting with magic is there any way to level this up without having to group to use the small heal?

4) Stanzas: Is there any source for good explanations on this feature?

I have loads more but that is enough for a start.

Thank you in advance to anyone with information!

i'd like to know this also. since it's a pretty meager community, everyone talks in region chat. occasionally someone will take in area, but b/c they're separated i sometimes accidently ignore the person speaking beside me. or sometime reply to them in region after reading their chat bubble.

1b)hit esc, or i think if you press enter after talking you go back to normal control. make sure you have the hit enter to chat checked in your settings.

3) only if you purchase starting magic from your other skills or got a 2 or more magic pacakges. otherwise, no.

other questions i'm not to sure about.

Welcome to Atys! :)

a) Click the button left of your input line to change the channel you're talking to.

b) Just hit enter, unless you've selected the "enter won't leave chat" option in your game configuration (hit u), in that case just click anywhere in the main screen.

2) Hit f ;) Click on the speech bubble symbol in your contact list.

3) You only need to do that when you selected 1 mage starter pack. When you selected 2 magic starter packs at character creation (or bought magic from another skill trainer) you also have the acid 1 spell that allows you to level the magic skill solo.

4) It's a brand-new game, thus there aren't many 3rd party sites yet, experiment a bit with the stanza system and you'll figure it out.

Thanks for the awesome link. It really helped me out. I hope the author adds more info. The stuff he put in there so far is something evertone should see, especially new people.

Maybe it should be included in a tutorial forum or something.
