Weapon questions

Hi, sorry for the n00b question, but...

can anyone list for me what the different weapon types are, and their effectiveness? - as in spear, one hand pierce fast but low damage; sword one hand slash slow etc. I'm wanting to be self sufficient, so only want to buy the crafting skills I need, but things such as pike and lance (I would guess 2h pierce, but am not sure) aren't completely obvious as to what they would be, and I dont want to waste 30 skill points.

Also, are all one-handed weapons dual wield?

Sorry if i missed this info elsewhere, but I did do some searches. If there is a good website with this info, or I'm missing something in game that makes it obvious (I'm still on n00b island) please let me know.

Dont know much about the others weapons as I prefer a mage.

As for dual wielding ... dagger/dagger or dagger/sword. That is it beside the obvious 1h/shield.

I have limited knowledge but here is what I have discovered so far. Anybody please correct me if I'm wrong in my assesment.

You are correct in your spear statement. I think they fall into 2 catagories, 1 handed and 2 handed weapons with a 3rd sub-category being dual wield 1 handed weapons. 1 handed weapons of the same quality level are faster but deal less damage than 2 handed weapons.

1 handed Spears, fast speed, medium/low damage, piercing.
1 handed Dagger, fastes speed, low damage, slashing.
1 handed Sword, medium speed, medium damage, slashing.
1 handed Mace, medium/slow speed, medium damage, bashing.

Dual Wield Sword/Dagger, fast attack, medium/high damage, slashing.

2 handed Pike, medium/fast speed, medium/high damage, piercing
2 handed Sword, medium speed, high damage, slashing.
2 handed Axe, medium/slow speed, high damage, slashing.
2 handed Mace, mediume/slow speed, high damage, bashing.

The different types of attacks will have different effectiveness depending on the beast you are attacking and what attack modifiers you are using, i.e. bleeding, ignore armor etc... (In all cases I have not effectivly tried bashing)

Kitin (Kipees) - slashing is best but piercing with ignore armor is equal and faster but uses up stamina more quickly
Gingos/Ragus's- piercing seems slighlty better than slashing
Bodocs - Piercing is better than slashing
Capryni - Slashing seems best
Yubos - everything seems equal except, bashing seems worse

I believe the dagger is a piercing weapon - it is for a Fyros Jab Dagger

For monster killings the two things i can remember off the top of my head are

Kitin - bashing is worst slashing best...

Gingos - Bashing is best slashing worst...Bashing (Smashing) does full damage to them.

for both of these pierce is in the middle i believe
