Names of the "moons"

Post by katriell »

Does anyone know what the names of the light orb thing, the moon, and the ringed planet in the night sky are?
Jelathnia, Kasarinia, KianShi, Maethro, ShuaLi, and OPaxie (Arispotle)

I asked several veterans about this and no one seemes to know. I believe this to be a missing part in the lore... which could be nicely filled with some imaginative story Nevrax is so good at.

Even better, what about Nevrax start a contest for the best name and story and let us/them vote? Some ideas: maybe Atys is actually the satellite of the large Saturn-like planet? Maybe the ring that planet has is what remains from another, long time ago destroyed, planet? If yes, why did it die?

A little separate from this topic... I am sad that it is almost impossible to see the sky from mostly anywhere in atys. The only "clean" view of the sky I ever had was on the noob island.
Would it be possible to eliminate a few of the planet's roots from the sky? A clean view would be nice to have, at least in the capital cities.

ahh the celestial bodies in the sky are:
Ringed planet = Aaj
Moon = Jole
Sun = Lea

Well i think the names work :p Named after me in lieu of any other names.

There's also this 'nebula thing' I refer to as the 'giant jellyfish in the sky' ;)

and of course, the 'Eye of the Dragon', as I call it, is standing still, watching, unblinking, day and night. As it ever was. How could it be otherwise? Yet, sometimes I wonder, what makes it stand still, when the other entities move around - not freely, but bound to their paths...

And all the dust in the sky - isn't it surprising that it does not move either? Maybe The Eye and the dust share some special relationship? Maybe the other entities move and circle far behind the dust and The Eye?

I apologize for continuing offtopic... only for short, I hope...

Atys is the living planet, it will continue to grow and expand and form new layers of branches and leaves and roots. What we perceive today as "the surface" is indeed the canopy that has closed over the previous layers. Ever wondered where all those deep holes in the ground come from? Eventually, the branches we see in the sky today will form another closed layer, and our lands of today will become the roots of tomorrow...
So it seems the Islands, as we call them, are indeed closer to the sky than the main lands.

And, now completely offtopic, only the karavan could suggest something like cutting down the branches ;)

I´ve come to refere to the Nebula in the Sky as "Jenas Light", or "Jenas Palace", the place where she´ll take the Homins after the day of reconning. ;)

The Planets and other celestial bodys still have no Names though.
A Contest would be a very good Idea, indeed. :)

The ring planet (saturn) is called "The Great Yubo in the Sky" :D
Or "The Great One", "Great Yubo" or "Granddaddy" for short.

We are on the "bark/crust" and the roots in the sky that another homin mentioned are considered the "canopy"
