I'm trying to get the game to always go to full screen mode, or at least 1280x1024 windows, on every startup. However, it always goes to 1024x768 windowed. I tried what was suggested in another thread, changing the setting from Auto to Direct3D or OpenGL -- neither worked.
I've checked the config file and it is set for full screen 1280x1024. Any ideas?
FWIW I am using a GeForce Ti4200 64MB.
Full screen mode setting ignored on startup?
Re: Full screen mode setting ignored on startup?
If there's a way to make it default to the proper setting, I don't know. As far as I can tell, it's putting it into full-screen on the selected resolution. Which isn't good considering I run my desktop at lotsXmany res. I'm going to see what happens later, but the irritation for me isn't clicking the maximise window button, it's having to change my taskbar settings every time I start and finish playing. Minor irritation, but every other game I've played has been fine with this stuff...

For me, the problem shows itself when I forgot to hit the maximize button, and then I am in the game and all of my game windows are overlapping.sunhawk wrote:If there's a way to make it default to the proper setting, I don't know. Re: Full screen mode setting ignored on startup?
If you load the external ryzom config utility, and notice that the render type is set to Auto, it will never remember window settings. You need to specify either D3D or OpenGL.dpkdpk wrote:For me, the problem shows itself when I forgot to hit the maximize button, and then I am in the game and all of my game windows are overlapping.
Re: Full screen mode setting ignored on startup?
I've found that maximizing the initial launch window - when you still have the maximize button at the top - helps get it into full screen mode on launch.
Re: Full screen mode setting ignored on startup?
For me, even that dosn't help. It is always to big, and wont go into fullscreen mode. Insteed, I get it in windows mode with the ends of the immage going over the edge of the box. And neither maximizeing or costom size change will fix that. Please help!dremvekk wrote:I've found that maximizing the initial launch window - when you still have the maximize button at the top - helps get it into full screen mode on launch.
Re: Full screen mode setting ignored on startup?
I'm sorry, but this is unacceptable.
I just purchased the game and had to take it back because the box contained two Disc 2's and no installation disc.
When I got there I spent 15 minutes with a clerk opening every SoR boxthey had and found only 1 box that had the correct discs.
Now, I get home and install, and the game won't run, under any configuration, in fullscreen mode.
Since the store won't grant me a refund (because it's software), is Nevrax going to? The game is unplayable in this state (windows go past the edge of the screen and cutoff the display, and the frame rate is horrible in windowed mode).
There's no way I'm going to give up $50 and not even be able to play.

Re: Full screen mode setting ignored on startup?
When you say windows going past the edge and cut off the display, I am not sure if you are having a similiar problem as I had, but I have to reset my window size each time I go into the game. For some reason it says the right size, but it's not, so I have found I have to set it to another size, then reset it to the size I want. I believe you can also set the frame rate. Maybe a stupid question, but just to clarify, are you running config under your video card or something or actually in the game or under the seperate ryzom config (found at start, all programs, ryzom, config ryzom)?drech wrote:I'm sorry, but this is unacceptable.

What external ryzom config utility? How do you get to it?If you load the external ryzom config utility, and notice that the render type is set to Auto, it will never remember window settings. You need to specify either D3D or OpenGL.

Not trying to be a smarty pants, but read my previous message before yours.bfox3 wrote:What external ryzom config utility? How do you get to it?
Just an FYI, if you need to change from D3D to OpenGL, once you get there just click "display" and choose OpenGL and hit apply. (when I had mine on auto, supposedly it chooses the best for your computer, but it kept choosing D3D and oh no way was that good for my computer) Also make sure when you load up the game, it will ask you if you want to change to D3D, say no.oddie wrote:under the seperate ryzom config (found at start, all programs, ryzom, config ryzom)
