Will there be a skill reset available with the upcoming patch 1 and 2?

Looking at the patch notes (see em up there?) it doesn't say anything to that effect, so I would venture to say no.

I remember reading a thread where that possibility was discussed due to significant changes that were going to happen to existing skills and also the changes to race related differentiators that the developers were planning. No?

It might happen some day, but unless they pull a fast one on us, I don't think it'll be in 1 or 2. ;)

To be honest ... dont hold your breath. You are given 5 charactar slots for a reason. With the ability to delete your character.

With any changes due out because of racial differences ... players will adapt and overcome or start anew. This system is so open that it can absorb those small things such as oops. After all ... the game has been live for how long ?

I'm sure there are numerous things you can do different with a new char. NO need to run around and do a char reset to get there.
