this new tp ticket system

Post by masuk »

Is it just me or does this new TP ticket system pants. Just came back from a break from ryzom to find i couldnt buy tickets, and apparently i must choose whether im neutral/karavan or kami in order to buy tickets. I chose neutral in order to just buy a ticket for yrkanis. I was told that i should go neutral then do missions till i have 30 fame then switch to karavan. However, i do not like doing missions, there absolutely boring as hell and i pretty much refuse to do them.

Its really put me off playing ryzom again, i cannot be bothered to sit there for hours running back and forward getting fame (tried a few missions and u get 0 fame for the majority of them), just so i can buy a tp ticket. I just tp'd to Fleeting Garden only to find i cant rebuy the ticket there, howay its like a lvl 10 area or something?, surely being neutral should allow me to buy a ticket there. So much for just trying to do some digging, think i can be bothered to run back and forward from yrkanis to upper bog your sadly mistaken.

At the moment im running back and forward doing nothing as icant use my current tp tickets as i cant rebuy em, cant be bothered digging as i would have to run back and forward for ages. and i cant be bothered to do missions :/.

Anyway, is there a quicker way of getting fame than doing missions, few ppl said killing some guards but it would require a team, anything i can do solo without a team?, other than missions.

if you undecided, then you cant buy any tp tickets. neutral can get up to q200 area tickets (at least one tp in area works for neutral). kara/kami can only get own cult tp tickets (for pr, you need 60 fame and for q250 areas 33 fame).
EDIT: fixed fames ;-)

for fame, you can do missions (dont need to get xp to get fame), kill temple guards or kill "enemy" tribes. you need to get xp from tribes to get fame.

for missions, get only kill bandit missions from every kara (or kami) welcomer you can find. fame builds up quickly

You got that backwards:

33 fame for Lvl 250 zone tickets
60 fame for PR tickets

That is partially true. There are 3 kinds of tickets.

- The ones you can get with neutral fame.

Those are capital cities tickets, and some others. Using Zorai land as an example:
You can buy Zora as neutral, but you can't buy the rest of the Cities of Intuition tickets. You can however buy Haven of Purity. Not sure about the Knot of Dementia one.- The ones you need 33 fame AND the Cult that goes with that fame.

Those are ANY TP points for your Cult that are above ground.

- Prime Root. Prime Root tickets are the only TP that require 60 Fame and the Cult that goes with that fame.

Also you dont have to do missions to gain fame. Actually the quickest way of gaining for your faction is to kill the temple guards from the other faction's temples.

This requires a good team but the fame is far faster and loads of fun to do :)

The quick, easy way to gain fame is killing Temple Guards of the oposite faction you need/want. Yes, it requires a team... But then again that is true with any good stuff in this game.

And no, the only way to gain fame solo is doing missions. The higher level the missions are, the faster you are going to gain fame (That's why killing guards is so good, because they're high level mobs... And that's why you need a good team.... See how that works?).

And no, the new TP system is not bad... It's just not the "god-mode" it used to be.

I came back to find all my Fame gone as well, but I got my fame back over about 2 days.

I can only speak for Fyros, but just using the Kami at Pyr and the one in Ovlaks Oasis, you can do a circular path of missions very quickly.

Choose the missions near the bottom of the list, that you feel you can accomplish.

I do the following.
Pyr
Kill Dunes
Kill a kipee
Kill Pyr crushers
Go on tour of inspection. (2 places)

This ends near Ovlaks

Ovlaks, again look near the end for the following :

Kill 4 kipee
Tour of inspection (same as the Pyr one, with one extra area)
Kill Dragon Breath
Kill Shadow Riders (this brings you near Pyr again)

Head back to Pyr and wait for the missions to reset :)

Word of warning, press J to see what missions are to be completed, when a mission is finished, make sure to click "Finished", as the Re-Set time will not start until that is done.

A few runs like this and you will have your required fame level, you do not get 1 Fame per mission BTW :)

all new players start off as neutral with a fame cap of 50

when the patch was introduced all existign players wer set to undecided so that thier fames above 50 were not capped to 50. can you imagine the uproar that woudl have happened if everyone wiht 100 fame had logged on to find it wiped in half.

'undecided' was only ever meant as a transitional status to stop this from happening. as undecided oyu cannot buy tp's and you cannot change your fame if your faction fame ie bellow 30 then you will need to set yorself to neutral to buy tp's.. if it is over 30 you have the choice of going neutral/faction... both of which have their advantaes/dissadvantages
