Finding my way back.

Greetings all you Ryzom players out there, old time beta player here that just found his way back to the game.
I was in the beta back in the days when Ryzom were still fresh, i liked the game back then but it was plagued with bugs (well of course it was, it was a beta!) And i got hooked on some other games when Ryzom went live (Daoc and recently GW) and now i've lost some interest in Daoc so i was looking around for new games and remembered Ryzom! So i read up on the patches and i found the outpost system!
One of the larger reasons Ryzom didn't interest me much was the lack of pvp.. Yes i know a game can still be fun without PvP but i like PvP alot (but only if both players feel the same, i hate griefing and such) but PvP is a big part of any MMORPG for me. I find it more challenging, mobs can only do whatever they are programmed to do while every player have their own playstyle and that adds alot to make combat more interesting.
I'm not all that much for RP'ing though i occasionally enjoy it if it's not too much. I enjoyed the Ryzom PvE more then i've enjoyed the PvE in most other MMORPG's and they've succeded with that quite good (although it seems it might be a bit of a grind, but the crafting system seems interesting and that might make it alot more interesting)
Now you might think, what is this post all about anyway? Well im simply wondering if the endgame is anything to go for, especially PvP wise. Because this game was originally an PvE game and trying to add PvP to a PvE game often fails horribly. Now i could just grind myself to the endgame and find out myself, spending lots of hours and money but i think it's easier to ask here, especially since the ryzom community easily seems to be the best one around (finally a forum without flamewars! there is a god!!)
So to sum it up (for all you who doesn't want to read my long rant)
Is the endgame PvP anything to go for or does it have no purpose? Same with endgame population, are there actually enough players (the game doesn't seem to have all that many players, sadly) to keep pvp interesting or will you be fighting the same 10 people over and over and over again?
What do ya guys think? Is this game something for me?
