Whats the purpose of this game?

Post by fiach »

I got fed up killing critters in the desert, so I went to Pyr....guess what, just bigger critters to kill and a city full of NPC's that cant really be interacted with. What happens next, where is the storyline continued, is there one?
Any pointers appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply Riolan, if this is as good as it gets, I don't think I'll stick around, You kill critters, go to another desert to kill bigger ones that give bugger all extra XP ?!? I dont think thats a flyer in my book :(

OK, where to start....I'll use this quote to illustrate what I meant, without going over the others and getting repetitive.

Not with my experience of RPG's, The storyline is king in any RPG's that I have played, This is called The Saga of Ryzom, Saga implies to me an epic story line, I read the manual prior to purchase and it had a concise and pretty detailed history, I thought that there was a story to play through from the vantage point of a "refugee" coming to terms with the New World Order that has been imposed on the planet.

Regarding your point vis a vis MMORPG's, I joined a guild last night, hopefully the Outpost thing will work out OK and make the game more interesting.

Regarding patience for the game being brand new....well, i thought there was going to be a storyline, I expected it to be implemented prior to release, shouldn't be too much to hope for.

Somebody mentioned research the game prior to purchase, i couldn't find a review anywhere, in the advert, it had quotes from different magazines saying it was a good game, also, i read the manual and I was intrigued, After checking the posts here and found them to be positive, I went and bought the game. Thats as much research as I could do.

regarding the Doom 3 thing, I didn't like D3, for lack of storyline and the....see powerup, get it and a creature spawns behind you, .... that gets old fast. I love shooters, You can also get them with a storyline, Chaser, far cry, Half lLife etc. fit that bill quite nicely.

Anyway, i still have a few days before I receive Anarchy, so I'll stick with this for the time being, i might not renew it after the 30 day thing, but I will come back within the 3 month period and give it another chance, and see if has filled out any, then decide.

Thanks to all for their contributions :)
