Not really recruiting but...

Post by pugmak »

If you're
1. Fyros
2. male
3. have a close cropped hair cut
4. willing to live the life of a "monastic order" ie. do your own digging and crafting to fulfil your own equipment needs and be ok with no plans for acquiring guild hall.
5. promise to refrain from profain babblings ie. dont talk alot in guild chat
6. self managing ie ok with no guild forum, no guild meetings
7. generally nonoffensive to the community
8. have some idea on where The Dragon might be imprisoned

you can join up with Balto and be a Seeker of The Dragon too.

forgot to add...Kami.. yeah, SoTD will be Kami seeing as how it was Ma Duk that saved us from The Dragon and there's a general suspicion that Jenna and The Dragon were in cahoots.

PS. Alts of folk in other guilds that want a quiet place to play occiasionally, welcome.

Seeker of The Dragon

History.

Long ago, so long ago in fact that it is now accepted as myth, The Dragon brought Hominkind to Atys. The Dragon, it is said, brought us here to serve as slaves.

There is truth in that "myth". It is not the full truth. Nor is it the whole truth. The whole truth has been held by a sacred monastic order. This Order held itself in secret and has kept The Truth of The Dragon and The Gods intact from the days of Hominkind first setting foot on the living bark of Atys.

Present.

Unfortunatly there is only one surviving monk of The Order of The Seekers of The Dragon. The leadership of The Order of The Seekers of The Dragon and all other monks, both Adept and Aspiring, have died due to either age or the recent religious wars between the followers of the kami and the karavan.

The survivor of The Order of The Seekers of The Dragon had been newly vested as Aspiring and was assigned as Keeper of The Truth. As Keeper of The Truth his duties demanded he be locked within a chamber for one full year as protector and guardian of The Record of The Truth regarding Hominkind comming to Atys and The Dragon and The Gods involvment therein.

When no one had come to relive him of his post and duties as Keeper of The Truth, and after the storage of water and foods had gone, this monk broke free of his confined space out of concern for what might have kept his brotheren from relieving him of his duties as required by The Law of The Order of The Seekers of The Dragon. It was while he was striving toward this end, the document of The Truth was destroyed by a fire set by falling wall timbers that had knocked over an oil lamp. Fortunatly for all of Hominkind, The last Keeper had read and memorized that document of The Truth.

With the knowledge that the leadership was gone and he was the last surviving monk, Balto declaired himself Grand Master of The Order of The Seeker of The Dragon and has made The Order to be no longer secret.

Credo

The Order of The Seekers of The Dragon is a monastic order open only to the men of Fyrosian birth.
It is the duty of all who wear the emblem of Seeker of The Dragon to strive towards competence and self suficiency in all aspects of Atys life and battle.

Seekers will stirve to master all aspects of battle and magic with equal emphasis. This is to ensure that no matter what skill or ability is required once The Dragon is found and The Battle is joined, any Seeker will be able to fill any role.

Seekers will stive to master all aspects of harvesting and crafting. This is to ensure that no matter what is required for The Battle once The Dragon has been found, any Seeker will be able to proivde for himself and not be a detriment to The Order on its Day of Accounting.

Seekers do not indulge in profain babblings. Seekers concern themselves with prepairing for The Day of Accounting when The Battle will be fought after The Dragon has been found.

The Seekers are loyal to the kami since it was Ma Duk that imprisoned The Dragon. The Seekers oppose the karavan since it is known by them that The Dragon was acting on orders of Jenna.

The Dragon is not a God. It is a beast and it can..and will be destroyed.

Great concept, if we had a bigger community I think you'd have a good chance to get a nice sized group. Good luck to you tho, it will be hard to follow that strict a code with a smallish community.

I do love the gameplan/RP.

Sacred Song of The Order of The Seeker of The Dragon
[sung to the tune of To Grandmothers House We Go]

Over the kitten and through the roots
to The Great Dragon's lair we go

Ma Duk knows the way
Fyros to go slay
our great and mighty foe oh!

A hint at the wonderous knowledge concerning The Dragon and its true history when you (yes you, you know you want to) reach the rank of Adept in The Order of The Seeker of The Dragon.

excerpt from The True History of Hominkind on Atys

...there are those that wish to believe that The Dragon is imprisoned by Ma Duk and held in that lurnum* between sound and silence. But, it is well known to those that have read the portents that, while The Dragon was restrained by Ma Duk and threatened with banishment to the lurnum, The Dragon is now, in fact, held by no more than its own slegi** and is residing within the grao***....

* lurnum = ancient term meaning a discreet measure of space time held independant of percievable reality

** slegi = ancient term meaning self imposed restraint or restriction by voluntary oath

***grao = That place where light goes, when light goes out. A gathering place for spent energy.
