dont lissen to people who tell you to get up to lvl 35+ and 500k etc before leaving. its rubbish

there is stuff in the mainland you can kill at lvl 1!

about level 20 is good tho and about 50k to get a new wep. but life there isnt hard.

for starters you can get over ql20 stuff. so as soon as you get to mainland as soon as you can use ql50 weapons for very high damage. good armor etc.

the key is ask around for help and find somebody to guide you to safe places to hunt.

and xp isnt worse in the mainland. past lvl 25 its better as you can fight higher level monsters.

all im saying is dont feel your stuck on the newbe islands because its soo hard in the mainland. go when you think your ready. if you leave before level 10 even with no cash people will craft you good ql 20 stuff for free normaly as the parts are so easy to get at that now ql.

so what you waiting for? take a deep breath and go to your homeland.

or a you a wimp ?

Thanks for posting this from "the other side" of noobland. I've been on Matis island for a couple days now and all I hear is how hard it is out in the mainland. It's good to hear another perspective, as I got bored pretty quickly running over the same terrain and hunting the same critters. I've now started crafting, though, which is holding my interest for a bit more; but I was a bit discouraged when I heard these people talking about how hard it is and how you need to level up to 35 in everything before going. I think I'd fall asleep before then.

There's a bit of a learning curve to the mainland. Expect to take a few deaths figuring out which enemies are in your level range, which have social aggro and such. Once you get that figured out, the mainland is unquestionably the place to be.

This time around I stuck with n00bland til 23 Magic/20ish Harvest and honestly I probably should have left sooner. For a Mage, the mainland and it's wide variety of Yubos to fear kite is paradise compared to the Ragus-infested pit that is Zorai n00bland. :D

Yeah, so I just ported over to the mainland. I was only able to stay there for about twenty minutes due to the fact that my connection is clunky and it was annyoing me, but, I'm definitely glad I escaped the little noob island. Yrakis, or whatever it's called, actually seems like a town, rather than a deserted ghost town outpost, like the five "towns" on the litte noob island. And the chat window isn't full of peple talking about how hard the mainland is and how many kipies they just took on at once--least, not yet that I've noticed. So, I'm optimistic that the repetitive and unchallenging experience that I had in noobland can be chalked up to what it was--noobland; and that things will be more interesting from here on out.

Just logged in for a few minutes. Horrible, horrible lag in the city, so I head out on the open road. Meet up with some kind of green tribe guys, check them out, move on.

There's a bunch of capryani and bodak roaming around, and of course, slinking through the herds like wiley coyotes, a couple of ragus. I'm cautious, as I remember being ripped to shreds recently by a couple of these things; but, it's no use--the vicious doggie has seen me and charges. I take a few steps back, brace myself, crouch as it leaps. There's a short lived fight and then we're minus one living ragus and plus one fresh ragus carcass. Huh. I straighten up. That wasn't too bad.

Hey, there's another one, heading for those bodaks. I keep it in my sights as I catch my breath and rest for a minute. I can see it weaving in and out of the trees. As it recedes in the distance, I advance, tracking it through the sparse forest. I catch up to it as it's eyeing a couple of bodak stragglers hungrily. Filthy carnivore.

I'm on it...and instantly regretting it. It's eating me like a farmer eats sausage and bacon after a good night's sleep. I'm still a bit dazed from the previous fight, and unable to heal myself as of yet, so I just keep hacking at the damn thing and shoving my off-hand dagger into it's eyes, paws, rib--poking the little weapon wherever I can. I swear this growling, mad beast has opened my jugular; blood everywhere. Just as I'm about to pass out, I slam the hilt of my sword repeatedly into its snarling maw. The ragus collapses with a whimper, and I realize, hey, not all of that was my blood, after all.

I stagger back to the relative safety of the road, but not until I've pulled the ugly thing's teeth and taken what bones are left unbroken. Those things fetch good prices.

Yeah, they have everything they did in noobtown, just in a very small area close to the main city. Don't let people trick you into thinking you may not be able to survive and will get stuck -- you can level on the mainland even if you're still 1/1/1/1. The reason people talk like that about leaving noobtown is cause the exp/money is faster and safer, until you get out of that level range.
