icon: internet connection???

i have been stunned by this game, yet i cant seem to stay on longer than a few minutes at a time....everytime i am online i see an icon in the middle of my screen that looks to me like a internet connection disconnected icon (a computer red 'x' and a globe) yet my internet connection is fine and when this happens my camera still works, but i cant move
what is wrong? i want to be able to try this game, but this is drastically reducing my gameplay

yes i am, but i did remove it to see if it was the problem and i still got some of the icons popping up but i dont think they were popping as often
does linksys have this trend? is another router better?? or can i do something with my linksys router?

the linksys "fix" didn't work for me. even on dmz it still waits for connection. i get way more packet loss than when i first started the game. this problem started for me at the same time as the lag problem. pings range from 200 to 700 now. used to stay at 200.
