Cannot connect

I type in my password and get past authentication, but once the loading screen comes up it sits on Connecting... forever.

Any ideas what is going on?

well I got past the connect... and I got to character selection.

Now I have a large black window that is mot loading through to the game world, but I hear the game music blaring out of my speakers.

Is there some sort of population cap on the server?

No population cap that I've ever heard of. You may want to checkyour ports if you're using a router.

Sounds like you have some video issues. Make sure you are running nVidia 71.89 drivers in OpenGL mode if you have an older GF4 series card. Run the game comfiguration from the launcher and disable the advanced graphics options and laoer the other settings. Same goes for the lower end ATI cards (not the drivers, of course).

As Kostika mentioned, dont forget some firewalls will create this same problem, lag while signing in, and a loading problem. My own experience is that my Firewall would stop my loading of the game and just seem to hang there. As I have said this was pointed out by Kostika, just wanted to voice what I've experienced because of firewalls.
