Eleytheria

Post by kgrieve »

Eleytheria is a relatively new guild but intends to leave its mark on Atys society and history for the betterment of all homins. People probably don't know a great deal about us and I thought this would be a good time to let you know who and what we are. To us the most important thing is our charter and we use it as a guide for our life in Atys.

The Eleytheria charter

We take “Eleytheria” as our name and highest principle. “Eleytheria” is the word for “Freedom” from an ancient language. Freedom is our highest principle. With freedom, however, comes responsibility. Members of Eleytheria are responsible for their own enjoyment and success in life on Atys. To be free, one must respect the freedom of others. Free people benefit from voluntary association with others. Cooperation and helping each other out for mutual benefit, is encouraged. Members are encouraged to take initiative in organizing guild activities. Every free-person should act as a leader to the extent of his/her abilities. In this way, we grow together. In keeping with our highest principle, every member is free to leave Eleytheria at any time. Eleytheria intends to leave its mark on Atys society and history for the betterment of all homins.

A bit about us
We have roughly equal proportions of Dutch/Belgian, UK and USA players and are a mixture of long time players (greater than 9 months), fathers and sons, and friends. I would estimate the average age of the players as 32. Mostly we are a guild of harvesters and crafters but are also adept in fighting and magic. Although not against PvP, we don't generally participate as it doesn't really fit our character.

The guild is Pyr based and the majority of our members are Fyros.

There are about 20 active members (spend more than 24 hours playing a week).

Recruitment
We generally recruit as needed as we like to give recruits the time, effort and training that will serve for their future in the game. As a result we recruit two to four newcomers at a time so they can team and the older recruits can help them.

We are pleased if older players join us as it gives us more opportunities to travel and forage. We prefer potential member to team with us so they can meet us and get an impression of what we are like.

If any players are interested in joining please contact Kindle, Djamiel, Shadowspyder, Supernovae, Toneh or Hormonal.

*psst it's Djamiel*

oh wait you already edited it :P

Another important bit is that Eleytheria is kami aligned BUT though many of our members have quite a sizeable amount of kami fame, we're too laid back to be rabid religious fanatics.

How is the mood in your guild now, after the anouncment of the region wars? Will you be participating in some way? Do your members consider leaving like many other guilds report about their members?

My name in game is Arrya, I'm Matis, currently considered a Kami follover but am working on bringing my fame close to zero again. What I am looking for is a guild that will be able to support its members in their neutral stance through the times that are ahead of us.

The guild is relatively unaffected by the region wars and the mood is positive. At first we had some concerns as the first day on Aelius was fairly brutal. Since then things have quitened down and we have all been peacefully digging, frequently and preferably in mixed teams. Most newer members actually ground their forage skills to assist in Aelius.

We always lose new members within the first month and this hasn't changed.

Of those playing for more than one month we haven't lost any; The newer members are so enthustiatic about the guild that they are persuading new homins to join.

As a guild we are strongly united but by no means a clique or exclusive. It would be unfair of us to say whether we are helpful and welcoming, we leave others to comment on that.

As far as neutrality goes we are still discussing how we can better Homin society whilst still participating. Prior to the Episode 2 it was decided that we would be a Kami guild and that is what we currently are. For us it is more important to maintain the ideals laid out in our charter whether we are Kami, neutral, hominist or other.
