Balance

We've been talking about the recent changes and a question came into my mind:

Which are the negative effect of PvPing?

Usually when you kill someone there are some negative consequences. In Ryzom there are only positive ones. Maybe this is the core of the problem, there is no in game motivation against PvP.

One idea would be to lose fame with the factions that the player is positive with. The amount you lose could be dependent on how high their fame is. So if you kill someone that is +1 Tryker, you might lose a small fraction of a point of fame with the Tryker. If you kill someone that is +100 Tryker, you would lose more.

Of course, this would all depend on the fame mattering for more than it does now. Like not being able to use the TPs at all in the areas where your fame is too low. Being killed on site by town guards, etc. If your fame in a land becomes too low, that land should be very hostile to you.
