These are the issues that like minded folks came up with... sounds more like Guild rules than anyone that has been out of the city limits would agree to.

Re: 1st Hominist Conference Charter
<steps on soapbox>
No homin can claim to speak for all others. For to do so would be to rob others of their own will, ability and liberty to do so.
Any homin should only speak for himself. For only he himself is responsible for what is spoken through his will, by his liberty, under his responsibility.
But speak a homin must! For it is only to our united voices that the world listens. If we remain silent, events will unfold around us as others plan them, as others want them, robbing us of our liberty to decide for ourselves, taking away our will to decide for ourselves, making useless our responsibility to decide for ourselves.
I believe the same goes for the Hominist Charter. It is not to be seen as a set of rules that are enforced upon you, that say to you "This, you may not do." robbing homins of their liberty of action and of their responsibility of action.
They are a set of guidelines for all of us to read, to choose on our own, by our own free will, enabled by our own liberty and under our own responsibility to stand up and say "This, I will not do."
<steps off soapbox>
As for the finishing line 'So speak the people of Atys' I too believe that should be changed. We, the attendants, spoke for ourselves to spread knowledge of what we believe in, to share and expand the hominist ideas and to let others know that there is a third way.

Re: 1st Hominist Conference Charter
Fine, the 'offensive' phrase has been removed, thoufg thus far it is truer than any faction or people, even the Tryker council.

Re: 1st Hominist Conference Charter
Artcle 2a : are the members allied?
Article 3: the Homin Rights Act is not a copied list of Tryker values. It only deals with point 1, not point 2 and 3 the latter two are what Trykers hold dear.
Article 4: Two phrases here will cause you trouble "fight only defensively" and "not be the source of aggression".
Article 5: what is this charters definition of 'banditry'
Appeal 1: None have repealled the Act. And note my points on Article 3.
Appeal 2: "the usurper King Yasson" The matis king who lead my people from the exile to re-establish our civilisation is no usurper, you have either confused your history with the usurper Jinovitch or you insult the founder of the matis new state and father of King Yrkanis. And Yasson did revoke the act in reaction to a favourable tryker/fyros trade treaty. Since those time other treaties and agreements have made the edict obsolete.
Appeal 3: see elements of comments on Appeal 2
Appeal 4: They condemn slavery wholeheartedly as signatories the the Homin rights Act.
Appeal 5: The Karavan will not, much as they wil not to any whom take the law into their hand, as they are Homin political/social issues. The Karavan grants its services to any whom follow their rules, and do not judge otherwise. The next line is far more troubling, Bounty Beaches is Tryker territory yet you do not ask the Tryker federal goverment to police their own lands, you ask other nations to do so, which some could regard as inviting them to invade and occupy. In doing so you also in a sense breach Article 4. Unless you consider asking others to do your 'eradicating' acceptable.
Appeal 6: Do you not think if there is any brainwashing (which i doubt) that the Tryker people would wish to care for their own? or do you again doubt the capability of the Tryker people?

These would be matters for a second conference, my chairmanship is ended.
I'll correct the factual error though - strange that nobody brought that up at the meeting

Re: 1st Hominist Conference Charter
I was unable to stay for much of the conference, but I applaud the attention given to the plight of the slaves taken in Bounty Beaches. I would welcome help from the other races in removing this foul tribe from Tryker land. I suggest that you ask the opinion of the Tryker Generals, Kilgoretrout and Sxarlet, about whether foreign troops be allowed on Tryker lands. Governor Wyler has failed the Tryker people again in letting the Slavers establish themselve in Bounty Beaches unopposed. He couldn't even be bothered to send an emissary to the Hominist Conference.
However, I cannot sign the above declaration. At the least, I am bound to defend my guildmates and members of the HOPE Alliance if necessary. I would also say that the stakes in the Kami vs. Karavan war have not been made clear. If the Karavan offer to give the keys of teleportation or spawning technology to homins, I would fight a thousand Kamis.grimjim wrote:Article 4 - Hominist Conduct

To Aajolea, I would say that your logic is fine, but do not presume to speak for the Karavan! Some Matis seem to be confused, at times, but you are not actually members of the Karavan. The Petition has been delivered to the Karavan and it is up to them to respond or not.Tylarth wrote:Appeal 5: The Karavan will not, much as they wil not to any whom take the law into their hand, as they are Homin political/social issues. Didn't attend the little conference thingy cause of work, so not entirely sure what went on. But I will say that there is already a major alliance for just what you seem to be wanting. Points wildly at signature to the HOPE Alliance link. You'll find what you want there.
