Hello all. New guy here. couple of questions

Post by kiang »

Just stoping in to say hello. I am about to end my trial and decided to stay. Found a rather nice guild to. The Souls. Thanks for inviteing me. Anyhow, I had a couple of questions. First let me say I was with guild members fighting and they had me healling (only thing I could do really) and as we went along I was trying to figure out how to tab between team members. Looked it up in the keybind screen and it said ctrl+f1 through 8. Well I tried that and it didnt work. So I remaped the keys and that didnt work either. Is there a quick key for tabing through team memebers, or do you have to select them in the team window?

Next would be crafting. This seems like a long and tiedious task. Is there some hint or does anyone know of a somewhat quick way to lvl this skill up? With all the different parts needed it seems like it would take forever to raise the skill. Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Last question for now is, Is there some way to swap out suits of armor or weapons quickly? Or do you have to go to the inventory screen each time to equip items. I know about clicking on your hand tab in your quickbar to select weapon, amps, tools and what not, but at the moment swaping between casting and fighting seems a little clunky. Just curious if there was another way to do it is all. Thanks for reading my little essay here. See you all in game.

I think, but I'm not sure, that this is actually a known bug... I tried to work around it by either remapping the keys to the players themselves, since you usually end up teamed with the same players, or by clicking on the names in the team window (shortcut Y).

No :) . The only way to change is pretty much what you've described. Which means that your position in a team is pretty fixed during the fight, even if you can change between mobs. As it stands, you very rarely change armors during a fight ( I would say never... but somethings you can't predict) and only rarely change from casting to using melee or range. Most of us got used to it.

First, good choice on guild :) . The Soul is a good bunch.
I use the team window, never been able to get quick select to work.

My advice is to drink heavily.
That, and overcraft when possible. Once the paths start to split, you can get extra xp per craft by trading an increased chance for failure. If you take one path of armor crafting, say light vest, to level 190 (which will let you craft Q200 armor) you can do full-overcraft on all other pieces of armor (light boots, medium boots, light pants, heavy sleeves, whatever) untill level 151, for 3 times the XP, but with only a 5% chance of success. Some prefer to overcraft by a lower margin, 30 levels for example, for an increased chance of success, but less xp gained per craft.
Also, you do not need to add boosts (health, sap, stam, focus) to your craft attempt to get xp, just when making things for others. Save yourself some down-time while grinding.

No way to quick-switch yet, though it has been desired for awhile. Maybe someday, if it is not prone to exploit.

Welcome to Atys :)

Key for team window is 'Y' as default btw. This is what pretty much everyone uses. ;)

You can build Makros for each team Member.
This works and is approved. :D
"Select Team Member." - "use shortcut" - Pow
Just put the "Makro-keys" on the Position in the Team Window, 1 to 8, and you can freely switch, no matter what name your Teammate bears. ;)
A little tricky to built, but if you make it, it works like a charm.

The fastest way to swap out gear is to go to the equip tab and choose the gear you want, no need to go through your bag to right click every armour piece you want....

as for the hot keys to select team members I think I've made macro's for that once that worked so if you don't mind some testing you could try that. You can then assign hot keys to the macro's..

hmm... Ok macros sound like the way to go with it, but umm... How do you make macros for something like that in this game. Is there a site or post maybe that could explain it. Im kind of a noob in any game when it comes to macros. Thanks again for the help.

Yes shift+k works. I figured out how to set up the macros for team selecting, but didnt have time to get a team to check it. Ill have to do that tomorrow. Hopefully it works. =) thanks for showing me that. Now if I need anything else for key mapping then I know where to go. Not a big macro fan, but team selecting as a healer is something that is essential I think. Hope it works. Thanks again.
