Hanging on load screen.

Post by khalinta »

When I run ryzom I can get through all the way to loading in to the world, but once the "bar" gets to the last little triangle it stays grey and nothing will happen. I tried renaming the folders and running the recovery thing 5 times then repatching and still I'm getting to the same point and its stopping.

It's worth a try to turn your graphics to LOW under "Textures" to reduce the amount of preloaded stuff a bit. After/if that works you can crank things up again slowly to find the sweet spot.

just a really silly question - have you waited say 10 minutes for things to load? for me it takes about 5 i think but can take more, and sometimes will fill the bar and then b another few minutes before i get into game..

might be helpful to post your system setup here so people more technical than me can help out :)

Networking FAQ has the ports needed by the game. Make sure the UDP port is opened in your firewall and router. Chances are the initial connection to the game is getting closed while waiting for everything to load.

I have 768 megs of RAM a radeon 9600 pro plenty of hard drive space a 1.3 ghz athlon processor. I do not have any firewalls on my machine, however I am on a college network that has some ports (file sharing and p2p networking related things) blocked. They have not to my knowledge though blocked any ports used by any of the games I have ever used over these last few years.

I'm having the same problem as well. I just installed and ran the game for the first time.. getting stuck at the last triangle.

My comp specs:

P4 3.0 ghz w/ HT
1g RAM
5900 geforce FX Ultra 256mb

It is also taking unusually long for it to load (even longer than EQ2)... and my graphic settings are all on normal. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think I need the IP for the Aripostle server the one north america connects to. My network people at my school might have locked a range of ports including the ones for Ryzom, with the IP and ports I can get them to unlock it, if it's locked.

213.208.119.xxx is the IP range for the various Ryzom servers
ports are TCP 80, TCP 40916, TCP 43434, UDP 47851

Hello -

I have also downloaded the 14 day trial and am hanging on the load screen. Have checked "Task Manager" and says Ryzom is running.

System Specs
3.2 Pent 4
1 GB RAM
256mb Geforce 6800

Netgear Router
With the following ports open
47851
80
40916
43434

Doesnt let me specify UDP/TCP in the port forwarding section so I have entered each seperatly as the Start/End Port

Really want to give this a shot, please advise

Any chance that we can extend the trial until this is resolved?
