I hoped the would go away eventually but I still get too many of these:

Access Violation exception generated at 0x57E89D, thread attempts to read at 0x18.
The thread attempted to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.

Did you check your system temperature and voltages and / or did you run a RAM test yet?
How frequently do those occur?
Do they occur at regular places or after a certain ingame time or completely randomly?
Go forth, live, learn, and most important, live together, not alone, for thou will soon discover there being a great danger, a danger thou never seen afore. The existence of Hominkind is at stake. The Kitin are still on the surface, great numbers of them. Who the Kitin are? Your worst nightmare...

Is your virtual memory settings high enough? ( I can see that all your physical memory is used up and you are also using almost 900 mb virtual memory (pagefile)).

Also, try to defragment the drive you have your pagefile on.

Checking pagefile in windows XP (SP 2):
rightclick "My computer" and choose "properties"
Click the tab "Advanced" in the new window.
Choose the button "Settings" in the top section named "Performance".
Click the tab "Advanced".
Click the button "Change" in the section "Virtual Memory"

Make sure to have enough space available to have at least 1500 mb free for pagefile.
If you manually set the pagefile location/size, make sure to click the "set" button to apply the changes.

My personal settings is: Custom size; minimum 2048 mb, maximum 4096 mb

They apear to be completely random. I did a mem test which showed no probs and the fan on my gfx card isn't spinning up so temp should be fine...

It isn't spinning up?

If there is an option to make sure that it always spins, I'd use that if I were you (Just as a test).

As well as that, do the usual defrag, etc.

Even adding another stick of Ram can help (I went from 768 Mb of RAM when I used to have these problems to 1Gb and don't get these anymore).

Then, again, how often does that happen? Once a day? A dozen times in a couple of hours? And can you think of any similarities in the crashes (e.g. crossing a region border, swimming, using spell xy or something like that)?

Random as in sometime 4 times a day (8-10 hours of play) sometime never. Sometimes when digging in KoD, sometimes when walking in windy gates. could happen while spellcasting in FF or when shooting plants in RW with my rifle. It happens when I'm in a team but also when I solo, day night desn't seem to make a difference, it could happen when I port but it might not...

as I said they apear to be random...

(I used to work as a software tester if there had been a patern I think I would have found it by now as I have been able to observe it since launch...)

@ Razz pagefile still isn't at max size so should be oke...

@ Gamic It stopped spinning up (as in spinning faster than usual) after I added a large system fan.
Also I allready have 1024 (1GB) mem...

btw I did a disk check followed by a defrag I even ran recover a few times nothing fixed the problem so far
and short of a complete reinstall I'm out of ideas

I don't see what sound card you have. Some of them do seem to have a few issues with Ryzom. Try disabling EAX and lowering tracks to 12-16 or so. Your issue may be the dreaded sound crash since it appears to be random.

You could also run 'Check Data' from the game launcher window and also check out the FAQ on freshening up Ryzom in case of crashes. You can probably skip the SAVE folder stuff.

Also make sure the ports for the game have an exception in the SP2 firewall as per the Networking FAQ.

Another thing, the latest and greatest drivers may not always be the most stable with all cards. You could try removing the 77.77 and installing an earlier version. The crashes could be video effects related.

I run my sound through my audigy 2 ZS which should be able to run AEX just fine as creative invented it onboard sound in disabled in BIOS

as for downgrading the forceware drivers: I did use the previous version but I had preformance issues and graphical glitches with them (dynamic lighting didn't seem to work properly)

However I will try disabeling AEX and a roll back to 77.72

Try the 66.93 drivers.. they work perfectly for me (I have a GForce FX 5800) eventhough they are a bit old (but the gfx card is old too ;) ).

As for EAX, I can tell you that I run with EAX enabled with no problems and I have the Live! Value edition of creatives soundboards. I do have the software buffer enabled, as I think I get 1-2 frames more per sec (with almost no difference in sounds).
