I return to Ryzom from my long voyages in the Real World.. such a gloomy place

Well, when leaving Atys during its early stages of development, our good people at Nevrax France layed out the plans of growth that our avatars and our land will take. The winding paths of Ryzom's history and future would not come to a halt. Nevrax would hold true to their word, and a long and powerful story will take place. Heroes will make themselves known, adventurers would have their chance at exploration, all our questions will finaly be answered! Who is Jena, why does she lead the karavan, wat is this dragon? Were'd the kami come from? Wonderful propostions, no?
Many ask, "Well were is the story? Why can't I interact with the NPC's? Why is nothing happening?" I answer the question with my own. If the ever-thoughtful people from Nevrax did NOT hold off on the story, did NOT wait for Hominkind, then were would we be today? Who would step out of the crowd and make themselves known? Who would stand to fight against Hoards of the Kitin? Who would be so daring as to venture out into the Prime Roots of the world and find the answers long lost? No one. Only now, after months of living on the planet, practicing our talents, and learning the lore of the world can we become the Heroes needed to pursure Ryzom's Future.
Many have given up hope, or have forgotten all about the history behind our current lives. Many have forsaken our ancestors and the sacrfices they made so that we may one day restore hominkind to its former glory. However I will never forget. Sitting alone, pondering the future of my life on Atys, I notice a flower bud from the ground. It grew, spouted flames, reveling in its glory, then slowly withered back into the earth. A sharp reminder, that Atys is a living planet, and is ever-changing. A more powerful answer than I could ever compose to the many questions our "grinding-exhausted" fellows ask, to the many complaints about "Useless missions, Rites without rewards."
Living through Atys' early stages, I came across many a skill, many a mission, many a bug that it seemed would NEVER work. Teleporters were non-existent, and Trainers littered the streets. Doors did not work, Missions were unsolved, bugs galore, and stanzas did not work. "Propsect for Cloth" was a mystery, and a useless skill that had a promising future, no more. Now, missions work, there are RITES, we can teleport through doorways, teleport to cities and even other worlds, we have come a long way yet many are giving up hope.
Many have begun to look at "Outposts" and "PvP" upgrades as HUGE updates to the game that will bring back life to Ryzom. PAH I say! PAH! I spit on such puny changes. One of the most wonderful ideas in Ryzom is teamwork. And through teamwork, through the idea that "nothing is gained when a homin dies" the Homins of Atys are Forming a strong bond that is found in NO other mmorpgs, many in fact have people BEGGING for their fellows to die. Outposts, Pvp, and Invasions, all these are but smaller parts of the whole. They will be a beginning to the new world that Atys will become. Wat will come of Outposts months after they are released, if all they will be are 'outposts' ? Many will be easily bored of even that endeavor - we must look to the future, not to wat we have NOW.
I say, we enjoy wat we are given, we use wat we have to make the best of our characters, for we were promised that the 250 cap WILL be destroyed. Whether that promise holds true is still up to question, but Ryzom wasn't built in a day, nor will it be completed in a year.
I say, stop looking at all the negative sides and remember, Ryzom promises us that we will have the power to shape the outcome of the world, the time we spend now "grinding" is meant to give us the strength to back up our words with actions. So go, grind away, make friends, make allies, make ur enemies know and fear you. We will have need of all the homins soon.
