Well, I for one, am extremely impressed with what Nevrax have done here with Ryzom. The game is truly astounding and the community in which we play is representative of the Quality and hard work they have put in. I dont think I have ever played an MMORPG with the friendliness and eagerness that the people of Ryzom show in-game.
I have recieved excellent response times when using the ticket queuing
system for support and more importantly I have rarely had to use it!
Getting in at the beginning of MMORPG is what I like to do, it gives you the opportunity to help get the game off the ground. That means sticking with it through all the bugs/ glitches that will occur, as with any game. At the end of it all you can say you were really part of something and helped make the game what it is.
I raise my (virtual) glass and say here, here Nevrax! May Ryzom be the success that we all hope it to be!
Good Job Nevrax!
Re: Good Job Nevrax!
the game deserves a lot more players than it has, some of the lack of players can be attributed to the distribution woes, but really i just feel so many people are waiting for WoW and EQ2.....and sticking with what there playing currently until those arrive.
In the end though, the quality of this game will win through, and people will want alternatives to those two titles. So all i can see to other players out there is do your best too convince people to give a try, to the company - keep improving the game and promoting it whenever you can, and sooner or later people will wake up.
A good starting sign - high rating in MMORPG.com and ive yet to read a bad review, and pretty few negative player reviews from those that have tried it..and that is indeed rare.

Well I can't say I aggree with everything said on MMORPG.com. And certainly not the user reviews which are very rarely useful. Fanboys everywhere... fanboy from game A says bad thing on game B reviews, and say game A is the greatest thing ever... same goes for game B fanboys, and C and D etc.
The information on the mainpage of Ryzom on mmorpg.com is also a bit outdated it seems; or innaccurate to say the least.
As for the big ones, well... we'll see. Personally I hate EQ for it's gameplay; I can admit it's a pretty successful game and that its popularity is well earned, but playing it for me was a nightmare so the second version is very low on my wish list. Warcraft sounds so hyped it's scary; Blizzard never even touched a mmorpg before and with all the Diablo hacks and security issues I'd wait a while before registering anything with them... that is if a tornado/hurricane/meteor doesnt destroy their building before release
Anyway, Ryzom's cool so far, enough to keep me busy while I wait for the first patches and hope the game will get more popularity in the coming months. It'd be sad to lose a good game because no one heard of it (it was pretty hard to get a copy at the release date... shops are only starting to get their copies now it seems)

I myself was really looking forward to wow... but then i stepped back and thought about it. What new has wow got to offer? nothing. Ryzom? many things; ecosystem, raid, dynamic contecnt, 8 year storyline. Wow may be very polished but it really is nothing new and I think ppl will realise this within a few months of it's release. Theres nowhere near as many things to do in the game as there will be in SoR

I played WoW, and yes its a good game. (stress test beta). But it has its short comings just like all MMO's.
It is NOWHERE near Ryzom visually, and content wise, well they are both about the same at this early stage of my playing.
As for EQ2. Well it doesnt have PvP. It doesnt have a persistent online world, its zone based. SOE develop it, and all they are interested in is marketing, not a quality product (just look at the LOE, and PC Gamer 10,000 beta invites, enuff said.)
Ryzom isnt dumbed down like WoW or EQ2. You get to spec your skills and stats. I like that, alot.
Its a little different to the rest, as in its not true D&D, but maybe thats a breath of fresh air right now.
Its a seriously good game.
Re: Good Job Nevrax!
I was planning to jump on to WoW when it launched, even though the game didn't interest me all that much. I wasn't reading good things...even from these that were trying to paint it in a good light.
As for EQ2? Well, SOE has quite a bit of work to do before I'll make any kind of investment in an MMORPG they built.
Fortunately, somebody clued me in to this game, which fixed all my "what am I going to play?" issues.

I want to thank the developers too they have made a great game that is not a d&d clone nor is it a quick way to make money out of a popular name.
I have been playing swg for over a year and find the game is now tiresd and stale with the developers working for the minority of the online members.
Ryzom looks a fresh experience and hopefully an enjoyable game.
