cannot creat char cuz of windows

i cannot creat a character because i am stuck in window and cant see over half of my screen i used check files a few times and still nothing how and where do u use ryzom_recover ? any help would be appriciated

Did you just install the game and want to create your first character?
When entering character creation, what happens exactly?
What video card are you using, using which driver version?

Quite a few people seem to be suffering this problem. IIRC, the game starts in 1024x768 windowed (or maybe 1280x1024?) - I use a desktop res of 1600x1200, so I have no problem seeing all of the window. Are you saying the window is filling the screen and still doesn't fit, or is the window filling the screen because it's not at the top-left, and you can't move it?

Yes, it does start in windowed mode, 1024x768.

i just instaled first char i run nvidia geforce fx 5200 256 mb i figured out how to use ryzom_restore did it 5 times still same screen is way to big and i see only half of the character boxes to the left of the screen and a huge ? in middle of screen no other buttons thanks and i cant even exit i have to crtl alt del to escape

What resolution is your desktop running in? Make sure it's 1280x1024 or above, if possible.

Also, try running the ryzom configuration tool - go into the Display settings, and change the display type from "Auto" to "Direct3D", and try that. If it's still no good, try changing to "OpenGL" and trying again.

Since the window should be 1024x768, I can only imagine it's the drivers forcing the window to be huge.

EDIT: Alt+F4 should exit the program (it should exit most, if not all windows programs, unless it has been locked out on purpose - Alt+F4 has been 'close program' for as long as windows has existed)

thanks guys i had to change resolution in my drivers weird cuz i play quite a few mmos and never had a problem before thanks for all your help anxious to get in game now have a good one
