Skills/Skill Points

Post by aehuji »

Hello, I am still fairly new at SOR, but learning more each day. I want to be a Mage, and eventually go to the Master Elemental tree. But I was wondering if I could also specialize in Defensive Magic as well. But if I did that I wouldn't have enough skill points right? I mean I'm LvL 32 in Offensive Magic right now and all I have are the int and wisdome points up to that LvL and Acid 4. It seems like I won't have enough points to get all the skills I want?

Don' worry, you will have enough skill points even if those are scarce in the beginning. You will get more skill points when you gain levels in defensive magic skill branch.

the skill points you have aleady spent in your progress as an offensive mage are already contributing towards your defensive mage abilities..

Intelligence and Wisdom are available from your highest magic level.
Credits.. sap, hp, time and range.. once you have learnt them for one branch, you dont have to pay for them as part of the cost of a spell in a different branch.
all the extra skills, - auras, self heals, etc, are available to learn from whichever branch is highest.

So picking up skills in a secondary branch is pretty economical, and the skill points earned in leveling the secondary branch can be vital in buying skills for your primary branch.

I play a specialist healer, elementalist, fighter, afflictionist.. all with the same name, sometimes during the same fight

Yeah, what they said.

By level 51 magic has split into four branches: Elemental, Healing, and Offensive and Defensive Afflictions.

If you don't have enough skill points from leveling one, go back and work another, and soon you'll find you have an abundance of skill points.

A lot of high level mages have bought absolutely every skill the magic trainer has to offer and still have points left over.

You won't be doing that anytime soon, but you'll have plenty of SP for the skills you really want before you know it.
