Oi! Fellow Trykers,

Governor Still Wyler has asked me, Roggan Agdan, to bring you the latest news.

The last official message coming from our neighbors and allies was quite unsettling. Like me, I think a lot of you must have thought the official who made that announcement had drunk a bit too much firewine.
King Yrkanis has announced this was not intended and wants to send a special peace embassy, to strengthen the alliance and bring friendship to the race.

I think we all know our neighbors can be a bit stiff sometimes, but this might be a good moment to let them loosen up a bit. So I have decided the embassy is welcome. To make it a real party, I ask you to be here, wear you best clothes and give them a good welcome.

As a gift for the ambassadors, Still Wyler wants to ask the Tryker guilds to provide gifts for them, to show them we Trykers might be small, but our goods are among the best of this planet. Therefore the best jewelers are asked to make their jewels (quality 150 or higher) as a gift for the embassy. Just like the Trykers, the gift will be small… but as a Tryker, it is priceless…

The embassy will arrive in a few days time, and then let us show these Matisian diplomats what a real welcome’s party is when they arrive.

We will collect your giflts tomorrow, ta for the help.

‘lo There lads, lovely day, isn’t it? Ah, smell that air! Anyway, is everybody here yet? Excellent, have a seat people.

A few days back we announced to you all that the Matis are sending an embassy here and that we wanted you to dazzle them with our fine Tryker crafts. When they arrive here, we’ll show them the splendor of the Lakelands! Without doubt, once they see our fair docks, the shimmering lakes and our untainted beaches how can they do otherwise than to fall in love with it, like we all have?

Now, as the Matis are those fancy type people – always in the mood for ceremonies and shiny trinkets – we’re sure to bring them over to Tryker sensibilities with our fine jewellery. I’m sure once we get these ambassadors around a friendly bar table we can talk over some of these things they’ve been saying.

You know how uppity these Matis are though, so we’ll have to make sure that our gifts are extra fine to lure them to a half decent bar. They won’t be able to refuse once they’ve seen an earring with the fairness of a seashell, or a necklace which sparkles with the colour of the deep sea! So lads and lasses, let’s see what we’ve got here!

If you’ll please line up here all proper like, we can have a look at your crafting, and we’ll get one of the lads here to note your name down, so we can give it so we can brag about ya later on! Now, who’s first?

Never will we bow down again as we did in the past, all those years ago when the haughty Matis enslaved us!!! They think themselves the rulers of Atys…… HA!! And, pray tell, why was the Ballistic Mystix guild forgotten - nay, I should say it plainer - shunned from this meeting? Rak, Oshi and I were charting mission mats in Fleeting Garden for the good of our community when we saw the call for the matis guards. We waited in vain for the call to Fair Haven to greet the emissary as was our due but no one thought to inquire as to our absence, we who had given the richest gifts!

Dare I say there are those who look on our guild with jealous eyes and plot to darken and shame our name? What say you, fellow Trykers? I demand an explanation!!

Oh dear Soma,

You were missed greatly! When we heared that the matis guard was gathering some of us raced to Fairhaven and waited there a long time, while we had to endure the slander of a twisted Tryker.

Not a lot Trykers were around when the Matis Embassy arrived, I think some were scared away of the official ceremony.. (by Jena, those Matis can hold speeches for EVER!)
Had we known you wanted to be warned, we would have sent our fastest Ybers to sent you the message, so that you could be in Fairhaven when they arrived.

But you were not forgotten. The tryker embassy gave your jewels and told the Matis that they were crafted by Soma, of the Guild of Ballistic Mystix. And the Matis were in awe of the quality of the jewels that were presented!

The welcome speech from Tryker

Honoured guests, embassy of King Yrkanis, and allies of the Tryker race, on behalf of Governor Wyler and my fellow Trykers, I welcome you to the floating city of Fairhaven.

You have traveled a long and dangerous journey, to meet us here in our capital. That means a lot to us, as we know how dangerous the lakelands can be to travel through. To us Trykers, that only shows how much honour you do coming here to Fairhaven.

To give this welcome a little more then just words, I am happy to tell you that our best jewelers have been busy for days, to craft their best wares, as a gift for the embassy. I hope you will wear these proudly, and will think of the small gift of the small homins, and that your memories will be as shiny as the gift is.
