I view with skepticism any guild that invites every player no matter what and questions them when they cannot provide to back to other homins, whether it be sumoman or otherwise.
If the standard to join is higher, the quality of the new folks is higher...
TBH, we have got rid of many folks like him, just like you did... But we dont pimp everyone or anyone... If all they are is a musclehead, they are a dime a dozen... Team/Guild dedicated folks following a plan are rare... that's where we make our money.
Ah, what a delightfully elitist and disrespectful post, Doubletap, when none was shown to you or your guild - nor do I intend to sink to your level now. If you are under the impression that Ouroborus Nocturna is "desperate" - then I suggest you are out of touch with the pulse of Atys.
I will simply say here (since to reply in the other thread would have perpetuated your thread hijack) that ON has very clear standards: only fun-loving, honorable, and loyal homins will last long with us. However, we do tend to be inclusive, and give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to invitations... & should they not fit in with us after we have invited them, then none of us - myself included - is above being 'voted off the island'...
It's ironic that Doubletap said all those with a Click Here to Join Melinoe link under every post he makes. Not to mention Melinoe's 14-day trial membership system that filters recruits is just as desperate at best.
Chronosfera - Amp crafter and user (ele, heal, OA, DA, boxing) Atys Paladins - Veneratio etiam Sanctimonia
no one ever agree's with everything or we'd all be the same and the world would be a boring place maybe.
But maybe it would be wise to learn about the ppl your throwing stones at?
You cant tar every guild with the same brush as every single guild is different to simplify and say that we're all 'desperate' is just a reaction to try and show yourself as 'different' when you indeed are but all everyone was trying to do was help this new guy find a home.
The Ryzom players are by far the niceist and most helpful gang of any MMORPG as all the reviews have said, so if everyone was to not reply to the message what sort of impression would that give?
If they wanna 'pimp' their guilds its up to them to do it not really up to you to shoot them down for helping, Doubletap. Jumping to conclusions is not a good sign of leadership imo so by doing this you have just cut of you nose to spite your face.
For all the problems DT and I have had in a guild vs. guild aspect.... by no means do I think anyone here has the right to question his ethics, morals, or ability to meet and judge others.
Moreover... in all our run ins (and there have been plenty) I've seen nothing but a man acting with pride and dignity... even if the actions were attempts at opposing me and my guildies.
From everything I've seen of the man this post is way way way off.... and should be rethought in it's entirety.
Sincerly,

So he can judge others but they cant judge him back huh?
Where did I say noone could judge him back?? I don't see it.
I'm not putting words into anyone else's mouth... simply offering an opinion of DT from a rather unique perspective .... please do me the courtesy of not putting words in mine.

IMO when i read it all i see is DT offering sound advise and how to keep a Guild united. I also think theres a difrence in having a "sign up here tag" and posting your self to try and get some one. One is the player trying to join your Guild the other is the Guild trying to get the player. I would much rather have some one asking to join of there own acord rather then someone seeing who answers their post and then picking one, it just seems less loyal of a start kinda thing.
Also im not having ago at anyone at how they do it them selfs its just what seems works for me and others
we are a friendly and fun-loving group, we allow anyone and everyone to join our guild that meets our friendly and fun-loving style :0P. Recently trimmed out the inactives of the guild (50 names dumped for the second purging) and we now have 45 ACTIVE members. Every so often we purge the inactives...so the open system seems to work if ya know what you're doing with it :0).
Our officers try and make our guild events and outings fun enough that people wish to participate on their own accord, after all it is just a game. There's nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer, someone who does something because they want to!
But not every guild should be as open as ours. At the end of the day when all is said and done, the only life we know is our own...the only methods we apply are those which experience has proven us. So use what you know, and what works for you...because that's what you'll already be using anyways :0).
Yeah, try and find a post by me saying "your just the right kinda homin we are looking for" in this thread. Then go back and look at all the folks that do it...
Keoni (or others in guiild) being one of those posting in just about all the "need guild" posts, going into a similar thread and dissing a "need guild" player because she could not pimp this one because they had bad blood... I was just pointing out I thought it a bit funny...
As stated by others, having a link to the site for folks to find easily is not the same as what others do actively here in every "need guild" post. If you don't like someone, let it be done with... otherwise let the folks that pimp every player posting here find out the hard way just like you did.
I don't post in yellow letters in every thread nor post in the wrong thread like some... but I do like to point out irony...
