Load Problems -- Any Help Appreciated

First my system specs:

Windows XP Pro SP2
Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz Processor
2 GBs DDR 400 RAM
Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT Graphics Card
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Soundcard

Intel Network Adapter running through Linksys Router w/ DMZ on and no firewall.

Here is my problem, when I start Ryzom it goes to the character select fine, but then when I try to load into the game world with my selected character it stops loading on the very last bubble of the load screen about half of the time. The music still plays, but the game just sits there. Also once I stop the game via task manager and go back in after this occurs, it loads up fine.

I am certain it isn't a network problem, as I play and have played many other MMOs with this same setup and no problems.

You cannot rule out network problems as each game handles this in their own way. Try taking the LinkSys router out of the equation to see if it is or is not the problem. You may have to enable port forwarding even though you are in the DMZ. There are also indications from players that if anyone else is currently connected to the net you may have problems. There is a an FAQ thread on the LinkSys. Unfortunately LinkSys routers are problematic with Ryzom (and other games and apps too, but we won't get into that.)
