the same "realism and immersion" were applied to the fight environment as has recently been applied to the digging environment? In practice this would mean:
> U log in and there is only enuf to hunt to gain you 28k experience as the Kami has decided in the interests of realism that it should take far longer for animals to respawn.
> You must solo to get even this much xp, as if u bring friends the animal population will deplete faster and respawn more slowly.
> There was requirement that you turn in 100s of thousands of hunt mats to advance your fight skills, and you had to tp and run back to your hunt site more frequently because ur bag bulk had been reduced, and without warning or explanation as to why.
> While u are occupied fighting one target, herbivores drag zerx onto u and they several times kill you in one 3k+ special attack hit.
> You spend hours searching for safer places to hunt, but find there are none as all spawns which suit your level are mixed with higher level spawns.
In my view, people would not play a game in which there was little to nothing to hunt, and in which their experience while hunting was made aversive instead of pleasurable. Yet this analogy, as farcical as it may seem, directly and accurately parallels that of diggers in some of the digging regions following recent changes to the game. And to what end? To make it harder to level craft when there are threads from players distressed there are too few high level crafters to supply their needs? I say with sincere respect to those who have developed a wonderful and largely impeccably well thought out game design, please immerse urself in the reality of player experience and craft an immersive environment that considers this above all else.

Would u play Ryzom if . . .
Re: Would u play Ryzom if . . .
I would like too see some improvements towards that direction to get more realistic and immersive world. Of course, the recent change in named mob respawn rate and behaviour was small move towards that direction
Current situation favors too much powerleveling using one spawn for hours. It is funny for while as you see your levels going up fast but it is boring towards end and what you will do currently when you reach your goal except start powerleveling next skill branch? You will get to see 5% of Atys during your powerleveling career.
But, it is hard to do such changes now as players want to powerlevel. Maybe it would be possible by adding new activities into game at same time and lowering xp requirements.

Very true, and all to easy for a weak-minded as myself to just be standing with a team and hunt on the same spot for hours without end. Not very fun indeed, and just as you stated, severely limits the exploring experience.mmatto wrote:I would like too see some improvements towards that direction to get more realistic and immersive world. I would much appreciate some Kami-based method of making sure that every hunting team will have to switch hunting grounds every now and then, or.. fight the Kami! It would fit well in to the lore, and break some quite boring behaviour.
It shouldnt be to harsh though, but still have an affect on game play. Too much hunting in the same area over a give time and Kami will strike you with fear and ANGER. But, luckly, you have the "How far from wrath of the Kami is this area"-stanza, so you will be safe and only hunt where there are Yobus all over the place.
*imagination takes control*
...and the counter device would be the newly introduced proffesion: Creature handler, whom are able to ensure fast population regrowth of a animal depleted area, in addition to the obvious animal taming stanzas...
...and ..

Re: Would u play Ryzom if . . .
Well you asked....
Hunting vs Digging.
If all the lvl 50 hunters moved to the only lvl250 region and started to take all the spawns. The exact same problem would arise with hunting as appears to be happening with ONE small area of Fyros.
I am going to throw into the pot a WILD suggestion. Don't ALLOW digging of ql250 unless you are lvl 195+. This would be stupid, but it would mean that players were forced to look around and dig in areas that are 'more suited' to their needs and level.
I am a lvl 190 crafter - the MAX ql mats I need for my MAIN branch are ql200.
I am a lvl 210+ harvest - I still dig in lvl 200 areas as they are safer and I only need ql200 mats (I sacrifice Harvest XP for speed and easy of extraction)
I have loads of other craft branches that don't require mats of that ql.
All the harvesters who are concerned about FF (east side) I take it you are ALL lvl200+ Harvesters with crafting requirements of ql210+ mats.
and you are ALL digging for 'customer' orders.
Have you considered using alternative sources for the materials, hunting.
I get the impression that a number of players are taking the following position, which they are unwilling to move from dispite alternatives being offered.
The position:
I want an aggro free,
Easy to reach (nice handy TP, and short aggro free walk),
Mats of the type needed for their craft skill in a 100m radius,
Handy NPC Hawlker or Tribe or town,
That allows then to get MAX xp from their dig.
Well wouldn't we all love that position!
In tryker we have a place like that .... its called the Fount.
Guess what - its packed with diggers and the KT on spots drops like a stone.
What the diggers there did was SPREAD OUT.
Some moved and started to use DFP (Deathfly Plain) and rotated around node (spots/deposits). The KT in the fount can be low at times. The player numbers there compared to Fyros are a little lower, as its a 150 region and players tend to move to BB or EI or LoL when the XP drops to low from digging.
I am sorry to say this but ....
KT - is doing exactly what its supposed to do!
How YOU react to it is up to you.
You can accept it and look for alternate places to dig (There are many, so don't come the 'Only one spot rubbish')
or
You can sit next to you spot that you can't dig and wait for the Devs to make your life easy.

Re: Would u play Ryzom if . . .
I fully agree with Neun.
The lowest Kami Tolerance I saw in Fount recently was about 50%.
The most spots I dig have a KT of 100%, so I don't understand what the problem is.

Agree with Neuns post in its entirity and if the same sort of parameters were made to apply to mobs for hunting yes i would still play.
Been farming Ocyx alot recently in the Thesos region to lvl my ranged but i have legs and tp tickets and if the Ocyx there were erradicted by hunting i would find somthing else to point my rifle at.

You know what makes me hate this Game?
People who want everything, at no cost, at the fastest speed and with absolutely no imagination involved. Lvl-Grinders who do nothing more then to stare at their Screen and aktivate one Makro or shortcut after the other to have their Idea of FUN, and seem to be absolutely intollerant of People who see this Game as MORE than that. Not even capeable of seeing the view of a devoted "Gamer" and secluding themselves in their little World, where their Charakter is THE UebermeisterMegaLevelBossmobkilladigga and all others are merely obstacles in their "Wannawannagimmegimmewhining-World" where everybody and everything is against them if it deviates from their view of an "easy and fast way" to get their Charakter to Lvl250.
Those People make me simple wanna .... well you know what.
Sorry, to have lost my patience but ... Ah well, better not extrapolate on that.
