Hi, we are the clique of Ryzom...

Post by raynes »

As of late there seems to have been an incresed number of secret meetings and invite only events. This is of course the right of those who decide to do that. Be warned though, what you do to others you will receive back. Don't be suprised if one day you want to be a part of something and get told no.

**And I am not saying I personally will do that, but if you are excluding people you better expect to be excluded.

I only know of the "are you ready for outposts" event (which I would have made invite only as well; it needed to be done in an organised fashion, not with loads of psychos running around) and the meeting last night, which was an official event. I guess nevy/the event team thought it would add something to the storyline to make it secretive. Tho why they then told the specially invited people to go and announce it to the world is beyond me *shrug*

I really don't think last nights event was an official event. If it was than to be very blunt, the people running this game suck. They don't put out content in 6 months, they don't have invasions like they promised, they don't run that many events, now the ones they do they only invite certain players.... Please someone tell me that is not the case.

To be equally blunt;
- It was.
- They don't.

I don't think you can construct a gripping story in an ENTIRELY egalitarian fashion. Some people have made more of an impact than others and those 'spies' do seem to have picked up on groups and individuals there was a 'buzz' about.

The way to be inclusive is not to have every event include everyone, but to provide _something_ for everyone by a multitude of events.

Heheh, nice idea, seems to be a lack of "multitude" atm though - sadly to say...

I am so tired of this bs. One selective event and suddenly there's cliques and the game sucks.

B*ll*cks. You're jealous you weren't invited. There are many small events that have happened that haven't been announced and got praise. And because they weren't announced they could easily be called elitist. You're jsut mad youw eren't invited.

Stop acting like children. I'm so tired of this attitude from people. Given what last night's even entailed, it would not have worked with lore or even story to have it be some big public thing.

One event isn't always. Grow up.

i'll tell you what happened on the german server, perhaps it'll make sense to you, raynes. remember the two agents from elias? the day before the karavan tried to hunt them down in the roots they were all over atys, according to several friends of mine who talked to them. they were asking people about important homins or important guilds. some of the ones that were mentioned i know as well, and they got ingame mail on friday or so, telling them to come to a certain meeting point. from there they were then carted off to the place fo the actual meeting.
now let's put 1 and 1 together, shall we? the ones invited were those whose names they gathered, you've seen the lists yourself. those names were gathered from the homins they met, not form some server statistic or from the forum. afterwards they were hunted to death. why? most certainly because the karavan were not keen on the message they eventually delivered to become public. now what do you think would have happened storywise if they had tried to deliver the message openly? don't you think the karavan would have tried their damnedest to stop them? thus the secrecy of the meeting. and even the order to tell the message to other homins makes sense in this context. the hard part was to put the message in positions from which it would spread naturally, giving the karavan no chance to stop it. now they only have to lean back, secure in the knowledge that the homins will be made aware by their own brethren.

Jup Xeno.
Funny thing though that Karavan loyal Guilds were invited too, to this secret "Kami-friends" Meeting. *g* I know ´cause my Guildmasters were among them, and we´re OPENLY against the Kami.
Seems like somebody messed up a little. *lol*
But, well S**t happens, even for the Kami.
But if anything, to tell the truth, the Message they got left them wondering if they truly stood on the "Light side" of this Conflict...
RP at it´s finest. (Maybe it weasn´t a meesup after all.. who knows)
And I don´t complain about beeing "left out" of this.
I perfectly understand that only "trustwothy" or "important" Homins were invited. Because Rumor often spreads FASTER then actual Messages.
Just look at all Foums!!! :D

it all makes me wonder if karavan lovers were deliberatly invited too.
Who is to say the guild of elias speaks the truth?
They say Jena is coming to destroy atys, but gave no proof
Are they really neutral? All their message seems to have done is stir suspicion between homins and their respective factions
