Grind Gorilla, Content and You

{never got around to finish this, hope some of you can use it anyway}
It was a dark and stormy night, when the Grind Gorilla, Content and You walk into the SoR bar.
An unnatural silence settles over the room as the trio slithers towards the barkeeper.
There have been a lot of talk on the forum about content, but what is content?
Few seem to define what they think content is, I will attempt to touch on some aspects to content.
You are content, no matter what you do or don't do. Just by being in the game. It might be tiny or big, but you can't escape adding something.
This of cause doesn't help much in clearing up what content is, but it is an important concept.
Let's start really basic, there are two types of players the Grind gorilla and everybody else {note; prepare to get flamed over this, maybe rewrite a bit?}
The grinder will be happy just to gain level, it is often their sole purpose to playing, they might touch on content but rarely do.
Everybody else constitutes most of the player base, from fulltime RP'ers (rare) to those who play for fun.
The content I will try to focus on isn't the Grind gorillas', even though it can be argued that they too bring some content to the game.
For SoR there are 3 types of content creators, namely player, CSR and Nevrax.
The latter two can be very hard to tell apart as they often intermix, and I will make no attempt at telling the apart {could maybe compare the week long event to the 'dailies'}.
Player and CSR events are most of the time easy to tell apart, but even they can overlap.
In the end, they are all content and can have world wide impact.
{add more depth to paragraph}
Obviously this isn't a clear answer to what content is. Let's try to create some arch types.
- Missions (NPC)
- Rites
- Popquiz
Here and now event, no planning needed just think of something which might be fun to do for a short while.
- Story and poem readings
- Social/roleplay
- Treks/tours/escorts/etc.
- Seek and/or destroy
- Competitions
- Invasions
{need a lot of work here, ya lazy bum!}
By now there should be a clearer picture of what content is and it many forms. It ranges from tiny to big.
If you don't participate in some of the content out there, at least have respect for those who do, and enjoy doing it.
In the end it comes down to you, the player, what content matters to you.
It is there, now go and enjoy it.
