Last night, we spended ~6 hours dueling each other for scentifical purposes.
Now i must admit, this was wasted time.
Both duelers lvl 2xx in melee and 250 in elemental magic, same ~same amount HP, amps had same stats.
First 20 duels, we dont used HP boosted armour/jewels.
Result was 8 from 10 times - we both dead after 2nd spell cast (you die after you cast spell, then die your opponent, when you already died, and vice versa)
When we equiped HP armor and jewels, and HP went to ~4.5k - result was same but after 3rd hit.
So problem, atm, high level elementalist duels are pointless, even with big amount HP (if duelers haven't leveled melee - enough 1 hit),
In current case/state duels result affect only players ping (Quake ?) and totally unpredictable resistance..
Resistance.
We both matis, but 1 hour my resist to Cold was very low , opponent resisted to Fire and Poison but hited it "full dmg" using Shock and Electr.
After 1 hour, started resist to double cold missiles, but not to Cold + Rot... (bad random number generator ? )
Then we invited 3rd person. (250 elem, ~same hp, ~same resistance in "Identify")
Duels between them - was same 50/50...
But when i dueled 3rd person, and used spells most effective on 2nd person (dueled before) - both combos was unaffective (like 300 dmg using double Shock)...
When used spells Fire (unaffective on 2nd player) - result : again both dead, cuz hitted 3rd player full dmg.
So problems atm is:
1. Pointless AoDs duels (only mass pvp).
2.Totally different resistance on players ~same lvls, same races.
Tho i doubt, or devs will adjust again players resistance against spells (but 1-3 hits - this is duel? and also this is instant dead in some cases (eg. if 2nd dueler not ready/foraging/etc)
Also would be nice, to get some info on resistance...
If "number in 'Identify" are identical - why resistance is totally different, and can be slighty different after few hours, but same race players still have "better permanent resists" to different spells (each player to another spell/spell combo).
Also we noticed bug in duels melee vs magic:
If both player sit, and one/both used Invulnerabity - you getting message "player-name leave combat" and cant attack ~15 sec. oppponent, after Invulnerabity effect ended (you can't use offencive ...) but opponent hitting you in this time.
Happened to us 2 times from 2 duels using auras and invulnerabity, but dont happened if we dueled without power stanzas (maybe just Melee die to fast without invul and m. protection).

i dont get the points of this if 2 lvl 250 are winning 50/50 then whats your problem? lol thats how it should be they are so evenly matched that mere hit and hope wont work... if someone was to make use of there mpa or there self heals in them duels at strategic times the outcome of the duel would be based on skill and not EQUAL lvls producing EQUAL results =/

U dont got point. Problem, imoi dont get the points of this if 2 lvl 250 are winning 50/50 then whats your problem?
1. is - too fast(pointless at current moment) duel.
2. Same race, same lvls, same amps - totally different resistance for each individum.
If [1] we cant adjust resistance to dmg, but [2] at least we can analyse resistance to spells type.
Why one matis resist to cold and fire, but dont resist to shock, other dont resist to cold at all, 3rd impossible kill with shock, but getting full dmg from Fire...

jewels add to resistances if you check your personal info screen you can see the stat which is higher take off your jewels and itll drop
and booster yes i agree the duels are too fast for magic but they used to be 2 times as fast before they lowerd the pvp dmg to half without nerfing mages dmg and making the solo part for them even harder there isnt much they can do... unless they lower the cost of spells because mages find it hard enough staying alive after 4 shots as it is

Im not sure if this is already implemented or not yet i reckon you char should have their resistance based on the types of mobs you have killed on the way to getting your 250 title as well as your race.
Ie, if you re a zorai that has levelled up to AoD entirely on kinchers (critical magic hit is electricity) then your char would have an uber resist to electrical damage.
This would make sense because your character would have heaps of "experience" in tackling mobs and resisting that kinda damage.

it would be nice to see mobs alot lower than your lvl not doing so much dmg anymore its pretty disgusting that a monster 50 lvls below me can kill me in 1 shot (kipesta) if it uses a skill. especially since the skill it uses is spit-fire and im a fyros char with 213 elemental 201 melee fire from a gnat like that should bounce of my desert hardend skin >.<

Maybe, if you use armor/jewels higher then your highest skill (250+ in this case). If you open character info screen there are 11 or 13 (not sure now) resistences there. I'm sure in boo's case they all have same number. If that is true and he does'nt resist same for all types of attack, then is something bugged.grimjim wrote:Unlisted bonuses from jewels/armour?
