I run dual monitors with Ryzom in D3D mode on one and like to surf the web on the other. The problem I have is that as soon as I click something on the second monitor Ryzom minimizes. In beta I ran the game in OpenGL mode and it would not minimize when I click on the second monitor. OpenGL mode gives me graphical glitches now and D3D seems to run smoother so switching back to OpenGL is not really an option.
Does anyone else running dual monitors have this issue? If not any suggestions on what I can do to stop the game from minimizing?

All you have to do is run ryzom in window mode, but streach the window to the full size of the monitor. I also have the hardware mouse turned off (can be done from the config menu in game by pressing "U") and have no problem runing the game whilst surfing
Re: Dual Monitors and Direct3D
I run the game with OpenGL (Nvidia FX5800) and have absolutely no probs with grafical gliches when the game is in focus. As soo as I tab out and the game becomes in the background I do get some odd looking boxed shadows etc.
I actually dont reccoment running the game while having your gfx card emulate two screens, as the onboard memory is split to be used on each screen, and thus gives you worse performance in the game.
Just my 2 cents. Hope you have better luck with running it in OpenGL + windowed mode as Mojojojo proposed.

I ran it using OpenGL and two screens for a while, the game in window mode. All in all, it took about 5 fps on avg, as indeed the gfx card just had to work too hard on two screens, like it should on higher gfx on only one screen.rasmus wrote:Just my 2 cents. Solutions:
- Plug in a second gfx card. Some mobo's have PCIe and APG, try to get one where these will not occupy the same slot in the casing.
- accept the loss and tone down gfx settings
- get a second machine to browse upon
- dont bother two screens
Either way, running a game in full-screen mode and having a second screen where you want to browse/surf/whatever on, Wondiws has some troubles with that. So windowed mode or the plopping all the time.
Actually, two screens can be recommended if your system can handle it. Really good fun and nice to use after the tedious business of finetuning the way windows handles it
