Gladiator!

Post by Tidings »

The Windermeer Gladiator tournaments will be running again soon!

The rules are here

http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9425

Start date is the 30th May, and Senior Guide Calebrien has kindly offered to co-ordinate the proceedings.

In order to even things up for Arispotle homins the event will commence again from the beginning.

***Rules are Subject to Change***

Good luck all!

AGAIN, I repeat...
we need to keep ingame the older/high levels players before the noobs.
a noob can get excited watching creatures of Atys and axploring the planet, as we did months ago... now the high levels what shall they do? give them at least a reson to remain ingame.
Continue to organize only entry-levels events isn't a good idea.

U aren't a grinder? me too but we need to think at the people who reached lvl250 in more than one skill long time ago. They're getting bored to see only
noob events, guides dancing and nonsense thing like this...give them (or US, if u feel ok in this) something 4 have fun... the outposts are near and I hope alot of players come back ingame... in the while time I hope nobody else leave the game, I saw alot of older players (friends or enemies doesn't matter...) offline everytime I log... this is sad.

I hope someone else can understand that before will be too late.

best regardz.

we can try to create 4 (or more) categories, for example:
light - under lvl100
medium - 100-150
high - 150-200
powerful - 200-250

only hope is everyone don't lie about his level :)

I dunno if possible or not but the devs can put ingame a tool 4 the devs that allow them to inspect the players in this way they can see the real level of the players and spot easily the lier.

Oh it's the "Windermeer" Gladiator competition is it? Well I seem to remember entering the Arispotle Gladiator League long before our distant cousins joined us. How I laughed over the crumpled bodies of my fallen opponents.

So if it's to be a new contest then I'm equally happy to kill a whole new set of 'competitors'.

'Ello Xipe, havent see u around for a while..

Right to make my point a little clearer. I fully agree we need some (lots) high level content for this game, i am *not* saying make it a 'noob' event. Most of my friends ingame have 250 levels or close enough, and i really, really want some high level content to keep them happy.. But i'd also like others (including me!) to be able to take part.

Message from Calebrien:

Hello all =)

I have been asked to run this event after call from it from some of the former Windermeer community were asking for it to be run again.

I understand that when GM Takashi ran the event it was quite successful, and I hope to live up to that.

However, I will probably be altering some of the rules and structure that he made to try and make it as fair for all as possible. I would like to make this contest open to all, no matter level and would like your feedback (especially from those who took part in the event on Windermeer) on how you think is best to do this. I shall try to take into consideration all suggestions, and will choose those that I feel will help to make this the best event we can.

I would like to make this a more long term running event than a one off, so possible a league table would be an idea?

All feedback is appreciated =)

You know, we should have digging and crafting contest in these gladiators event too;

Like who can dig the most type of a certain specific mats at a specific q etc.
Who can craft a weapon with the highest speed, highest dmg rate, etc.

The diggers and crafters are missing out on these competition events.

And I do like the idea of a long term league table. And allow pple to challenge the highest champion for his spot :D

I also wouldn't mind some "group" competition, like 2vs2, 4vs4, ...

I am very glad to see life breathed back into this tournament series and applaud you taking on this work intensive event handling Calebrien. If everyone understands all the work you will be doing to prepare this, they will surely be patient while you work. We were almost to the Atys championship phase as all the civilization winners were completed, but we have a new world full of people who want equally a chance to compete for those titles...

Thanks again... please let us know when/where, with different timezones and more folks you will have to have the patience of our friend Takashi did, and then some
