Spring has come!

Post by malkor »

Fellow Homins!

Spring has come to Atys, and it is once again cause for celebration!

I, Mai Priestess of the Silver Watch, and mai associates will be holding the first ever Matis Spring Festival, THIS COMING TUESDAY at 7pm EST (that's 3/29). There will be a number of events and competitions, but the theme of the evening will be a peaceful gathering of homins to enjoy the bounty of the Goddess’s blessed spring. Kami followers are also welcome, any Karavan should welcome those followers who would join in a festival of peace with open arms.

The primary meeting will take place in the 4th district of Yrkanis, though there will be different activities to take place throughout the city. Story-telling, dancing, poetry competitions, song, and best-dressed competitions will be only some of the many attractions!

Let every homin rejoice in this blessed spring!

Great! I look forward to it. :)

May I suggest, Advertise regularly in game between now and then, many do not come and read here. Also. It appears there is a new calendar on the index page for these forums.

Thanks for planning this. I will do my best to attend, as well as letting all of OmegaV know about it.

WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

I'll be at work at that time :(

Mai has been revising some plans for the festival, and there are a few things I need from all of you :)

First: Spread the word! The festival will only get better with more people, and I can't anounce in every region all the time >.< Even if you don't banter about it in region, let people in your guild know, it will make the whole evening a blast :)

Second, Mai is in need of a few people to act as judges for the poetry competition, song-story-off, and group dance competition.

Also looking for a few mages to help with fireworks.

/tell me in game (mai) or PM me if you can help with any of these :)

Okay! Announcements are out and I hope people look to the forums for details!

Mai has finalized a list of events that will be at the festival, though there will be a few suprize events, so be sure and show up, ne?

*ahem*

Events:
Poetry competition
Dance competition (both a duo bracket and a group/line dancing bracket)
Story telling competition
Song-storying competition (yes, there is a difference :P )
The Yubo Dash (a race around yrk w/out speed-up or mounts)
Strong-homin competition (not strong man, b/c i'm sure one of us ladies will win)
Fireworks (possibly competative....ooooo)
Best-dressed.

All events will be anounced with locations during the festival, which will have a 15 min initial gathering for communeing and some general announcements. Prizes will be awarded, but it's mainly for the fun :)

*note: format of strong-homin : we're doing this a little diff than usual. You will be broken up into duels, where you will have 60 seconds to unleash as much damage as you can in Hand-to-Hand combat (ie: no weapons, no magic, no armor, no jewelry). No self-heals or melee auras will be permitted, though if a warrior happens to have berzerk they will be permited to use it. After 60 seconds, a winner will be declaired.

THANKS!

PS If you're interested in attending but are too shy to pit your skills against others, you may be able to help with judging, or general milling about. Feel free to get ahold of mai w/ any questions :)

Sounds like a blast. I'll bring some fine desert Shooki spirits for all to enjoy and loosen up with. ;) :)

Wonderful event, Mai! (Though you didn't save the yubo race for after I was back  ) I think this was a lot of fun for everyone involved.
