Player events: Ideas, and past events

Please post the events you have done or would be interested in with a short description. I am trying to create a list of things that can be done. Some of the EE peeps are contributing. In the end we will all have a better list, and once someone does it, it will be easier for others to replicate at another time / land / etc. I will compile this all into one list and over time everyone can use it.

My first one, thieved from the EE peeps is this:
A hunt.
Goal: Bring back a set amount of a certain quality Animal Mat.
Type: Team and Individual
Places: Top 3 or 5 places
Ideas: Could be different animal parts for different lvl people.

Imagine 10-20 peeps all scourging the Cloppers around Pyr!

YAY good work!

- Beachparty Event -
Roleplay event for all races.
Three games were held on the beach at Avendale: Swimming contest, YubooBall and MetalDetector. YubooBall is a game in which you use a Yuboo as a ball and you may only taunt or fear it to move it to a certain area.
Metaldetector is a hunt for forage mats to find x amount of all mats.
The Swimming contest is a race who swims fastest around Avendale.

Most fun of the event is to roleplay your character to have fun on the beach. Discuss BBQ-recipes at the campfire, drink to much fyros firewine or Tryker-Stinga-Rum and get drunk.
Discuss the latest model of surfboards, etc.

- Blackwater Pirates Event -
Goal: to rescue the damsel in distress that has been captured by the evil pirates.
Type: hunt, answering riddles, and rescue
Needed: some new characters to make a pirate guild, roleplaying to give it all a nice touch. And good locations to post the pirates and nice riddles to answer.

Catch the thief!
Goal: Locate a thief who has stolen a valuable item, and retrieve it.
Type: Group hide and seek, possibly dueling or lead-in to other events
Ideas: I tried a bit of a messy one with Aen's armor. I think more villain interaction would have helped. This can also go with kidnapping and the like, could be in a city, a region, or all of Atys.

Spy
Goal: Join a hunting group with a certain person and record what they're doing. Bring the information back for a reward
Type: Individual
Method: Get some NPCs or PCs to play the character being spied upon, also have a plant or two in the group to keep things moving. Spy could say or do something interesting, or could get suspicious and end up blowing the player's cover! Could be good lead-in.

Defend the territory!
Goal: We've learned there will be an attack on a tribe/location/person. We need help defending!
Type: This could be a craft missions, ie "the tribe needs better equipment to help against the invasion, or combat
Method: Either have an enemy RP group come in or use NPCs. Have the battle planned out with results depending on how the players did, or duels or mass combat to defeat the enemy.

Convince
Goal: Persuade NPC to do something.
Type: RP individual
Method: This type of event could be resolved in many ways. Perhaps the player can get his hands on an item the NPC wants, or just plain talk him into it, or maybe challenge him to a duel or a game of dice. Reward creativity.

Defeat
Goal: Win a duel against NPC
Type: Combat individual
Method: Pretty simple, really an event-component but could be the center of an event. Perhaps defeat his minions first, and then challenge him to a duel.

Chase!
Goal: Catch or follow a villain
Type: Individual or group sneak/survive
Method: The villain is trying to get away, follow him and don't lose his trail. Maybe the idea is to catch him, maybe to shadow him unnoticed to see where he goes and spy on him, or something in-between.

Teaching events
Goal: Instruct new players
Type: Varies
Method: These can be IC or OOC, can cover many subjects. GFunk's classes are a good example. Teach core game skills, RP skills, the doctrine of Jena/Ma-Duk, formations or GvG, any number of things.

Tours
Goal: Take new players to interesting place
Type: Exploration
Method: Just create escorts to places of wonder like Virginia Falls, Paramount Stock, or the tunnels in Scorched Corridor. Hang out and do some other event at the location.

Dance/feast/party
Goal: Simple fun, maybe a component of another event
Type: RP
Method: Dance, banquet, get-together... Include IC elements and areas of interest. Have a group of organizing players decide on certain things and RP them often to add a sense of realism. Have different "sections," different dance routines with songs or different courses at a meal.

Preplanned Meetings
Goal: Give some meat to the setting, make it seem like the player-base has its ducks in a row (if that's even possible!)
Type: RP
Method: A meeting between different characters of players - except that the meeting is all planned out! Give characters some input of course, but have a solid outline so things don't fall into chaos and maybe plan some RP events during the meeting.
