Stats Vs Skills

Post by theemo »

Whats the stand on stats effecting skills? Like Intellegence effecting the dammage of spells, or Strenge effecting the dammage of melee.

Do stats effect your skills? or do they just raise your HP and make heavier armor more available to you.

As far as I can tell the Stats do not factor into the damage you do directly, but in a way they do indirectly. All the weapons (and the magi staves) have a minimum required stat to wield them.

The quality of the weapon is basically what affects the damage you can do. The higher quality the weapon, the higher minimum stat it will require to wield.

Even two weapons with the same quality may have vastly different max damage ratings because of the different affecting stats of the materials used to craft it.

I found that there are stats on magic amplifiers that seem to lean towards one magic specialty or the other. For instance, one staff will have a bonus that speeds up the casting of healing spells, another will have pluses to speed and/or damage to offensive magic.

the amp stats depend on what mats are used in it's creation, and arnt based on char stats.

No, stats have nothing to do with damage or accuracy. Period.

Not sure about magic but with Melee weapons strength has nothing to do with how hard you hit but will allow you to use higher Quality weapons with more damage. There is some kind of Ratio for weapon Quality vs. your lvl but what it is i don't know. You will notice your damage increase with each lvl you gain. Sorta hard to tell with your damage all over the place. Increase damage is my primary attack and i see a 4 point damage increase in each lvl. This might cap at a certain lvl with weapon used but i upgrade my weapon every 15-20 lvls to max i can use.
