does blind actually work?
does slow attack rate actually work?
does slow movement work / have any use?
the reason I ask is I have been extensivly playtesting all my affliction spells over the last week and have come to the conclusion that they dont
blind - mobs still hit as much as they usually do and still dodge at the same rate.
slow attack rate - just does not work at all
slow movement - does again not seem to work
I am going to ticket for these if my findings are proved correct in the experience of others. (I actually like to research before I gripe )
please do not answer this post with just gripes about how blind was destroyed by the patches. if these questions are answered by you though though please feel free to moan all you want
A few questions for bugging mentalists
Re: A few questions for bugging mentalists
Additions - already ticketed
Sometime XP gets allocated to another team member, my aff/off xp was given to our healer.
Aff/def aff - seem to give XP atm only when combined with other skills (off/heal)
Aff as the first spell used - seems to give no XP.
Not funny - hope they fix it soon!

Well Jack seems to be getting xp just fine using only afflictions...borg9 wrote:Additions - already ticketed

don't know about that one, must be an individual problem as I've been getting xp for affliction only all week
and if others are getting your affliction XP all I can say is "can I come hunt with you"

Well, he, the graphic effects yes, but that's about itdakhound wrote:does blind actually work?
I haven't made any in-depth research, but mobs hit and dodge way too much. If Blind has any effect, it's marginal. This spell needs an overhaul imo.dakhound wrote:blind - mobs still hit as much as they usually do and still dodge at the same rate.

Re: A few questions for bugging mentalists
Good luck with the tickets Jackoba
all I can say is bah humbug to Nevrax !!
It's not like this hasn't been ticketed b4.
* Blind is not blind at all. All it does is help the melee fighters hit the
mobs more often (especially if the fighters are low lvl).
Plus the fact that mobs resist Blind more than any other aff spells !!
* Slow attack rate is only marginally useful if it links throughout the
entire fight which it rarely does, unless you're very high lvl.
Trust me lvl 205 + is not high enough for those mobs which give
decent xp !
* Slow Move is useless.
And I've "tested/used" all off affliction spells daily from Septemeber 2004 until today,
and submitted countless of tickets..

Re: A few questions for bugging mentalists
thanks for the quick replys people
I'm aware you have ticketed enough times link and hope you keep up the one man (now 2 man) pressure campain.
all I can say to others is dont let this put you off affliction as its still useful you teamates (especially the low lvl ones) will love you like a mother they never had if you use it.
give it a try, learn to love the skills that do work, send countless tickets in for the ones that dont

Re: A few questions for bugging mentalists
Blinds, madness, roots, stun, and fear really do work.
They suck at lower level, as is all skills. Keep leveling them.
And make sure you're 'linking' them and not just chain casting.

Re: A few questions for bugging mentalists
I agree with Stun and Fear, and I like to use them. Blind however is a spell where I can't see a decent effect, and I am not chain casting atm.vinnyq wrote:Blinds, madness, roots, stun, and fear really do work.

What does the spell in your case, vinnyq? Reduce the attack rate of the mob, lower mob hit probability, increase player's chance of hitting?
And from which level on would you consider it to be effective?
