In some recent battles, I've found it pretty hard to recognise the oppent during big pvp battles (Alliance vs Triangle of Truth for example).
Nothing on the radar or on the screen shows who's your oppent, quite annoying.
Suggestions:
- Let players who take part in a pvp event take sides, change the color of the opponts name or something.
- Currently: Team & guildmemer selection = ctrl + space, other player & mob selection = space // suggestion: Friendly side selection: ctrl + space, mob selection: space, opposing side selection: alt + space or shift + space

Agreed, but unfortunately there is currently no way for them (the devs) to determine who we want to be our enemies; they can only see whether we are in the same guild as someone (which won't work for general PvP), or if they are in our team (which won't work in PvP with more than one team). The only other way is going by faction (Kami / Karavan) which won't work if there are 3 groups fighting, or if the fight is Kami v Kami or Karavan v Karavan for example.mrozzy wrote:In some recent battles, I've found it pretty hard to recognise the oppent during big pvp battles (Alliance vs Triangle of Truth for example).

Your points are indeed valid, but only from a game perspective, not from a roleplay perspective. Being able to find your intended enemy on a chaotic battlefield shouldn't be a piece of cake, and I believe it will add another level of skill and a continuation of the steep learning curve which I so love about Ryzom, setting Ryzom's PvP apart from the rest.

Kinda makes you think that player on player was more of an after thought than an original plan

The only other way is going by faction (Kami / Karavan) which won't work if there are 3 groups fighting, or if the fight is Kami v Kami or Karavan v Karavan for example. It would be nice if we could declare our own "PvP groups" when entering a PvP zone, and anyone entering would have to choose to join one of the existing ones, start their own, or stay solo.
My guess it would just require some additional scripting.
Currently the only thing implemented is the option to pick the kami or karavan or stay neutral when enter the pvp zone that was reserved for the event. Your choice will affect fame.
The only thing that needs to be done, is making your choice affecting fame optional, and the sides optional (so it doesn't have to be kami vs karavan all the time). Knowing the devs are pretty fond of making things dynamic and leaving things open, I think it won't be that difficult to implement.
As a bonus, such player organised or player triggered events, could cause a sortof snowball effect resulting in huge epic battles. For example player A (a fyros) refuses to resurect a player B (a matis) because player A isn't very fond of Matis.
Player A happens to be a root forager, and after a few days he runs into player B's guild someware in the lands of Umbra. Player B's guild slaughters player A. Player A's guild isn't very happy and happens to be in a big alliance, so they take revenge, ...
After a while, the alliance of Player A claims Umbra as thier terretory, slaughtering every guild which isn't part of the alliance.
Now the kittins in underwood woe arent very happy with all that activity, and they remember what some Fyros did the first time they encountered eachother ... let the games begin .. =)

Look for yourself; http://www.ryzom.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=3 You might have to look a few pages back though, because they seem to have gotten over it at lasthans1976 wrote:They did? Tell us more!

I've been a Fyros all my life, and I'll sure live like one.
As for now I took a code to try to assist each player, no matter what race he/she is from. I have taken the path of the Kami long ago. History tells us Matis aren't there to trust. The Zoraï are our natural allies, and will be for a long time.
I feel some sympathy for the Tyker, as they supplied us with water, when we needed to. Due our common history, I will give the Tyker some credit, but I'll slaughter a Matis in a blink of an eye if upcoming events provide good reason for it.
To summerise, for now, I see each single player as a friend, and I'll assist where needed, but for the Matis .. don't step on my toes, it can and it will change the opinion and the attitude of myself and probly of many others towards your race dramaticly.
