Lower graphics on mobs and higher downgrade on ranged graphics

Lower graphics on mobs and higher downgrade on ranged graphics

Have seen over the mnts since the release the graphics on the mobs and have been downgrade quite a bit.

Same with the range on downgrading on graphics, it look quite silly then, 50m for you 10 live players lies on the ground with a stiff one.
Or in a group of more then 20, players the farest off look like a sticks.
Or the mobs looks totaly diffrent form 0m-30 and to 30m->

Is it any way for us with more then a p3 and tnt2 card can have the high quality graphics back?
Or is where any one out there with some tweaks for the graphics?

Mobs just look all floaty in the distance :S It the game engine itself. I geuss this is what allows them to have so many creatures with minimal resource use.

Do you know or do not know if their is any way to get the graphics back/or tweak it up?

Why do ppl need to state the obvius???

It's autodegrade kicking in, you can go in and adjust your degrade settings to change how it works. Most likely will find some in the config menu and some in the .cfg files.

Because your post implied you didn't realise that the was the case :) From what I've seen, there's been no downgrade in graphics detail, and no changes in distance-drawing calculations.

The way to improve this is (as has always been):

Go to Configuration > Display
In Characters, turn up No. of High Detail Chars to max
In Characters, turn up Polygon Detail to max (50K polygons or whatever)

Just turn on everything :) If it's already turned on, I'm afraid it's a degrading problem with your eyes... j/k

Autodegrade! If there is such a thing, that means the more players there are and the more content that is added the quality of the graphics is reduced. This would seem pretty obvious if there is autodegrade. If this is the case then is it confined to the mobs and characters or does it also include the scenery? The characters and mobs from a distance have looked odd for sometime so long now that I can't remember it being any different but what I did notice on occassions is the scenery from a distance looked more 2 dimensional. So is this down to autodegrade?

Yes Shadow it is - the degrade system works on both characters and mobs, although I don't know how it prioritises between them...

Without autodegrade, raids would be quite impossible. Even with settings turned to absolute max, a raid involving 50+ players and 50+ kitins would guarantee degradation of some 'character' models on screen (character being either player, mob, NPC, little floaty flies etc.). I have high settings here, but usually see people with square heads when the raid is in full swing :) Quite amusing! (only for so long tho...)

Tust me, it has been a degrade...

But im not intrested if it is a downgrade or how i works, this i know and understand perfectly.

I was only wondering if any one know how to increse it back or higher insted of serching for it and riping the config files apart my self, to save some time.

i would be surpried if you can run this game maxed out on a p3 and tnt2 card.
In fact i would be vey surprise if you can run any up to date game maxed out on that setup :P
