Foraging Questions

Post by gaspode1 »

Got a couple of questions I'd be interested in getting answers to.

1. For a given mat (eg Beng Amber, Silvio Seed, Yans Wood Node or whatever) is the colour always the same for a given type ie Basic, Fine, Choice etc.

Depending on the answer to that, where do the Black & White colours that I heve seen reference to fit in?

2. For a given mat & type eg Basic Beng Amber, are the attributes seen in Info always the same ie for Basic Beng Amber would that always mean that the 'highest' attribute would be Lightness when used as a Jewel and Defensive Affliction Speed when used as Magic Focus.

As always, thanks in advance and any other thoughts or comments gratefully received.

Cheers.

1) Yes, a mat of the same type and grade will always be the same colour. Black and White mats come from the Prime Roots.

2) Yes again. Basic Beng Amber is Basic Beng Amber. Any two pieces will have exactly the same qualities.

Each mat has 3 colors. One is for the "Common" ecosystem that will be Beige, Purple, Turquiose, or Green. Another color will be for the race-specific ecosystem (Lake, Jungle, Forest, Desert). This will be Red or Blue. Then there's a color for the Prime Roots ecosystem and that is Black or White.

So like Hash Amber has the following colors:
Common - Turquoise
Lake/Forest/Jungle/Desert - Red
Prime Roots - White

P.S. Check out the crafting resources link in my sig and you can compare colors and stats of mats of different types and grades.

Hmmm, I haven't made a statement yet, but I'm going to retract it anyway, just in case I get the urge later...

Ahhh...

Just to clarify, in my answer, I meant mats of the same type and grade will always be the same colour... since that's what was asked in the question. :)

Just a little supplemental question following on from the answer to Q2.

If one piece of Basic Beng Amber, for example, always has the same attributes as any other piece of Basic Beng Amber, are those attributes also always the same as the attributes for Fine Beng Amber, Choice Beng Amber etc or do the attributes improve as you move up towards Supreme?

And thanks for the info so far - very helpful as always.
