Given the escalation between the races and/or factions. It has come to my attention that it may not be in my best interest to supply the "enemy" with goods.
I was wondering if at some point in time it would not be pertinent to have a player listed item have fame requirements specified to be able to view or purchase the item from the vendor. I can to some extent understnad the ability for a Kami lover to be able to walk into Yrkanis and be around, As I have heard the lore, I do not believe Yrkanis is bound to the Karavan. However I am sure there are some NPC's at this point in our conflicts that should definitely not care to talk to a Kami, much less sell goods to them. As well as some players who would not like there goods to fall into Kami hands.
Please provide some feedback and your thoughts. And please don't hate me in-game for pointing out something that should clearly be in-game.

I fully agree. Negative factions currently mean nothing unless they're so low that a tribe will attack you. This should work for good fame as well. You don't have to hate the kami so much as love the Karavan so much that you won't sell anything to anyone that would deter Karavan fame...so two options: low karavan fame, vendor will not sell, and/or high kami fame, vendor will not sell.
This would rock particularly for the RP community.
Thanks for the great idea!

I love this idea. There really needs to be more concequences for your faction levels.

LOL? That would the game's economy into an depression more than likely.
There isn't a large enough player base to divide the merchant's wares in half. It would be a workable idea if this server had a few more hundred or thousand more people on it but not as small as it is. It would be a workable idea but just not the way the server is now, get more people and I would like to see it.

Re: Selling my wares, I don't want to sell to Kami lovers.
As things stand I don't really like the merchant system. I understand 'why' Q50 items need to be in Zora for instance. I think the population of the area and the mobs required to kill in those areas would limit the weapons.
compared to the current implementation I think the above idea would be great because it means you have to quest a little bit to a new town for the people who have supreme degrades for sale in higher level towns. It just ads fun to and more things to quest for imo.
The faction deal is a step further. Granted it work better with a larger player base. Even Nevrax seems to want to unite the factions more though. This last event, giving us easier access from Zorai to Fyros, a million times simpler than going through underspring, is an example.

Perhaps the choice to base trade on fame values is best left up to the players - the seller should be able to "mark" an item with a specific fame requirement and the buyer should be able to see the seller's fame, so he or she can make purchasing decisions based on that value.marct wrote:Given the escalation between the races and/or factions. I agree it's something that should go on the wishlist, but a thread on it's own is legit since he's looking for feedback - candid with the idea and wondering variations in light of something better than an original thought is something to be greatly appreciated!zumwalt wrote:This is one for you to post in the wish list, it actually makes sense.

Can't argue with that logic, just was pointing out that maybe he should also post it in the wish list

Re: Selling my wares, I don't want to sell to Kami lovers.
This seems much better than trying to say it applies to all or that it applies regardless of the level of negative fame one might have. We each get a small amount of negative fame just because of our race. You might want to block all sales even to someone like that, but others may only want to block sales to those that are truly committed to this conflict. (Very low fame)varelse wrote:Perhaps the choice to base trade on fame values is best left up to the players - the seller should be able to "mark" an item with a specific fame requirement and the buyer should be able to see the seller's fame, so he or she can make purchasing decisions based on that value.
To be honest though, this seems like it's being suggested in a vacuum. I don't mean you are suggesting it without paying attention; I mean that this type of change isn't something that should happen alone. If we're going down this road, some of the suggested changes having to do with making guild alliances game-supported as well as making guild hostility declarations game-supported should go along with this. That way if a treaty or truce is worked out, those items that are still for sale, could change availability automatically.
