I was thinking. I do that somtimes. Anyway, What if we were able to realy form aliances? Not the ones we have now were we just say we are friends. Aliances that are game suported with common chat like guild chat. Maby they could even have a ranking like the guild has officers.
Somtimes members of a gulid split off and make there own guild but still remain freinds. Sometimes members join another guild because of time zones. Somtimes you become very close with another guild.
This way you could join together without haveing to break up your guild.
What do you guys think?
Super guilds.
Re: Super guilds.
I like the idea, friendships between guilds with similar "purposes" always form, when the game mechanics support it, even more so.
Re: Super guilds.
Maby I should have put a poll with this. But, nobody seams to like a lot of polls. I guess its not the good idea I thought it was. Just you and me lyrah
Re: Super guilds.
As always I can only speak for myself... but another channel full of meaningless babble is not something that excites me even alittle bit. If we get as they said in the past, an ability to make a channel that we can add selected folks to... that would be great.
Every guild has one or two people that pretty much just talk to themselves and just annoy me and others to death. I have often missed info I wanted to see because GC becomes a bit too chatty. I have told everyone in Melinoe to PM me if they need a rez ANYWHERE, or if they need gear. If I am grinding in any fashion I rarely look at GC if there is a chatter in there. I find I get blown up, killed, or stumble into bad guys if I spend my time reading "wow, thats a big gingo"... "are <insert name here> a friendly tribe" (very common, maybe the fame menu broke)... "are <insert name here> bandits" (Ummm, is the name and title the same)... "any harvest question I have in my harvest guide, or that can be explain by right clicking the stanza itself or looking at the progression tree"...
Again, maybe it's just me... I would love to be able to add specific folks to a channel with me, I have no desire to add to the list of people in other guilds that I just wanna say STFU too

You say you only want to speak for your self? OMG, I should think so. Golly leey gee mr. dbl tap i surprised you play the game with such yokels like us. My advice, till you get your elite channel is that you should just put your map over your chat box and then you never have to bother with the rest of us that are not on like you, oh so smart and play oh so correctly.vguerin wrote:As always I can only speak for myself... but another channel full of meaningless babble is not something that excites me even alittle bit. How can you suffer such people in your guild, i would think the purpose of the guild was that you could have people associate with you that share something similar, be it goals, a similar world view, or values. I am surprised you tolorate such chatty folks in your guild, in fact why do you suffer so? Is it because you can not find enough elite players that have the same attidude as you? Or is it that the comments you make in the chats are some how different and above it all?
You sound very suck up and very limited in your knowledge of people.
Oh and jackmor i think your idea does have some apeall to me and would probably be very handy to have during the invasioin for example.

Re: Super guilds.
In both big guilds I was in in everquest, we had alliances with other guilds. We'd have a chat channel dedicated to the alliance, which in both cases had about as much chat as our guild chat did. It was great having that many people around in case you had a question, or needed a rez, etc and couldn't find out in guild. Also made EXP groups easier.
Re: Super guilds.
I agree, in AO there were similar tools. Folks would setup chatbots that regulated who could join them based on guild rosters (a lot of guild info is publically posted stuff on the intarweb in AO). Was great for doing stuff and throwing together groups at oddball times of day.aelvana wrote:In both big guilds I was in in everquest, we had alliances with other guilds.
