Kult of Kami – A Kami loving RP guild

Post by raynes »

Introducing Kult of Kami – A RP guild on the Windermeer (North American) Server

Contact Raynes or Kaena in game if interested.

Our purpose is simple, to live and devote ourselves to the true guardians of Atys, the Kami. The Kami believe that Atys is special. They know that it must be tended to and taken care of in order for it to survive. They know that the GOO is a cancer that is spreading by the day and without being taken care of will eventually engulf the entire planet. Put simply, they love and care for Atys as much as we Homins do because this is their home. Time and time again they have show their devotion to Atys by stopping the rapid removal of resources so that they may replenish. They have proven their love for the Zorai by stepping in and stopping the Karavan from punishing those attending to the goo. It is for this reason we devote ourselves to the Kami. It is this reason why we celebrate the way of the Kami. Won’t you join us and help rebuild our civilizations with the help of the guardians of Atys?

Details:
The Kult of Kami is a roleplaying guild. This means that players will be in character and will play as if events and lore of the game are real. In order to accomplish this several rules will be put into place.

1) Chat
Around chat is to be treated as a roleplay channel. No member should speak out of character (OOC) while in this channel. This includes any interaction with other players (no matter if they go along with it or not).
Region chat is to be used to talk about the game as the general game population speaks about it. This does not mean you have to be OOC, but you do not have to.
Guild chat is open chat. As sometimes there is guild business that requires players to speak OOC it simply would not work to keep it a RP channel. We do ask that you refrain from talking about RL events, politics, or religion.
Team chat will be treated as a private conversation between the parties involved. As such what is said there is will have no restrictions places upon it.

We also ask that you keep all conversation in any chat clean. There is no need to use vulgarity, swearing, name calling, or any other type of inappropriate behavior. As a rule of thumb if you wouldn’t say it in church, to your mother, or in a job interview don’t say it in chat.

2) Karavan vs. Kami
This is a Kami guild. The difference between this guild and most guilds will be that we will insist on you playing as if you are a follower of the Kami. This means that you will be asked to not join teams made up of Karavan supporters. It means that you should never do a task for the Karavan (see exception below). It means you should not trade with Karavan groups or supporters.

It does not mean if there is an invasion and there are some Karavan supporters in a large group, you can’t join in. In situations like that you are not helping the Karavan, you are helping other homins so you would not be working against the Kami.

Part of the Kami religion also involves the active recruitment of Karavan believers. They need to be convinced of the error of their ways. Members will be expected to speak against the Karavan belief. This does not mean screaming in everyone’s faces. However if someone should speak to you about the Karavan or the opportunity open up to convince them of turning to the Kami, that opportunity should be used.

*Exception: The only time it will be acceptable for any member of our guild to do a task for the Karavan is in the case of getting the name listed on our fame registry. We want to get as many of the in game tribes listed as we can so we know where we stand with them. If a member should come across such a tribe that is not listed, they should contact a officer or leader and tell them of the situation. They will be then told if it is ok or not to do one task for them.

3) Gameplay
Part of the reason this guild is in existence is to make the story and lore a central part of the Ryzom experience. As such member will be expected to take an active interest in the story and lore and have a good idea of what is going on. This does not mean we expect people to be experts, but we do expect them be able to know about things in game. After all you can’t roleplay successfully if you don’t know the background information about the part you are playing.
We also ask that all members make earning fame an active part of gameplay. As our guild is setup to play as devoted followers of the Kami we strongly suggest that all members work to attain a personal Kami fame level of 60. This is a goal and not a set figure. If you join our guild, you love the Kami, so you should want to reach that level. All members should also work to gain fame with tribes that support the Kami.

4) Other races
The way the lore is written is the Zorai and the Fyros civilizations support the Kami, while the Matis and Tryker civilizations support the Karavan. As such our guild fully supports a friendly relationship with the Zorai and Fyros races. On the flip side we will have a cold, unfriendly relationship with the Matis and Tryker races. Does this mean that we only accept Zorai and Fyros homins? No, there are some times when a homin chooses a different path than what they have been taught. It simply means that unless a homin declares they are not of the same belief as their race, they will be assumed to be.

One question I've been asked alot is "where are you based?" Well, in truth we are based in Atys, though because of the Kami alignment it is more likely that we can be found in the Jungles (my current favorite). Don't let that discourage any Fyros, Tryker or Matis interested, I have Kami ports to all lands and will gladly spend a few hours or days in another land with other homins.

Also, I'll likely be spotted running about the lakelands quite often, as it's still my racial home.

First off I am very glad to see a strong Kami RP guild out there, congrats. I am somewhat concerned however, that some of my guildies have already had run ins with you. Our guild has long strove for neutrality, but of course, this is all but impossible. We make no secret of the fact we do NOT support the Karavan agenda, but neither do we support the Kami. Our fame is very high with Karavan and low with Kami simply by virtue of raising our racial fame. This does not however mean we RP our support for Karavan or against Kami. It is simply a fact of the game, that racial fame is a major contributer.

I am sorry to hear that you will not join groups with us or trade with us simply because of our racial fame. That is exactly the kind of intolerance and racism we at PF are fighting against. We would like to see an Atys of Homin, not Karavan or Kami rule. Face it, all Homins are closer in apearance and function than we are to the Karavan and Kami. For us to align with either over eachother just does not seem reasonable.

I look forward to seeing you all in game, and hope you do not mind me recomending you to anyone interested in a Kami RP guild.

There's no racism. Racism is based on, well, race. This is not the case. It's more of a ... higher powerism. :D

And you said you were glad to see a good Kami guild, well remember - one of the biggest things on the Kami agenda is to oppose the Karavan. What good is a strong Kami guild without strong opposition to the Karavan? ^_~

Let me clear a few things up here. I did indeed run into one of your members last night. Not knowing where your guild stood on the Kami/Karavan issue, I asked. At first I got a responce that the person didn't know. As the conversation continued on he indeed said that you guild was neutral at the moment but that there was a strong likelyhood that in the future you would totally support the Karavan. It was at this point that started to try to convince the player that the Karavan weren't the way to go, that the Kami would be a better choice. If he hadn't said that you were likely to go with the Karavan in the future, I probably wouldn't of gone into the topic like I did.

I do have a suggestion for you concerning neutrality. If you truely wish to be neutral start doing Kami tasks until your Kami and Karavan fame levels are equal. They changed the fame system now so Kami and Karavan tasks only effect each other. As far as I know doing tasks for your race will no longer change your Kami or Karavan fame.

I hope you understand our position concerning grouping and trading. We view the Karavan as being out to hurt Atys and out to hurt the Kami. By doing tasks for them or for their supporters you are helping them. Which in turn means you are hurting Atys and the Kami. That might not be your intention, but that is the end result. Again if you are truely neutral, I encourage you to work to make both your Kami and Karavan of equal level. After all if your deed help the Karavan, why shouldn't some of them help the Kami?

And please recommend away! :)

Know this Kami Scum!

Those who follow the Kami tread a thin line between madness and utter madness. Those who preach their herald are beyond redemption. Let it be know that the Gladius Jenae will not rest until this outrage has been sqelched from the lands, and order returned to Ayts for all children of the Goddess Jena!

It should be noted that only a scarce few out of the multitude of members in Pegasus Foundation assisted us in the slaying of the Sacred Sap in Kami Circle. There actions do not represent the position of PF as a whole and may be considered an abberation. To those members of PF and other guilds to whom neutrality represents an ambivalent gutless position and who wish to bolster their position with the Karavan and the old laws of Matis by decisive action, Gladius Jenae may have a home for you. To the worshippers of Kami we have more patience than we have shown to the Sap, for we hope that you might turn from your ways and realize the great deception of your faith and are thus not beyond redemption. The emergence of Gladius Jenae will bring forth truth to Atys like the first rays of dawn from a darkness that has lasted millenia.
-Berrule, Gladius Jenae Officer

In a way, yes, our guild represents an opposite of the Kult of Kami and we hope to fill the vacant niche of a militant pro-Karavan guild. Glad to have you on the great stage with us Raynes :) . We look forward to playing the game like it was meant to be played.
