I'd suggest the nature of the community surrounding a F2P game has alot to do with the game itself. You may get your opinion of what a F2P games community is like by looking at a few Korean PVP oriented games.

I'd suggest that the game itself makes the community, that's why our community is so unique and famed on being the best MMORPG community there has been. I don't think there will be a problem with players taking libertys because Ryzom is free. I think eventually, as has always been, everyone falls into line. Ryzom sets the overall tone of its community.

The only problem I see with Ryzom going F2P is; what does Ryzom have in value ingame that a player would purchase?

You don't think your local grocer takes a hit when someone pays with a stolen credit card, do you?
Let me just say that at least her ein Germany, things run a little bit different and it´s not just as easy as you make it sound. CC fraud is sadly a very real problem for a company. As for other Countrys (USA, France, whatever...) I don´t know.

But as you seem to know all the better, I´ll seat my case and wait what happens. *shrug*
