Well, if you look, we actually seemed to come to what seemed to be an acceptable position. So it wasn't worthless

In an effort to drive the black economy forward, my Marauders faction will be mobilising a guerilla Mektoub Movement to destroy or otherwise disable all unguarded teleporters. Announcing this might not have been such a bright idea. Meh

Anyway, learn to walk, homins!

First, for the argument that say thet the neutrals will get all for nothing... What has done a factionated player to get the TP? Some grinding fame, let's say (Being generous) 1 day, and a rite? Wow. 1 day in one year, that's a lot of efford.
I actually see very little flame here. What I see here is a desire to reach to reach a way in which more players can have a broader use of the game. I suppose you think anything short of complete agreement is hostile.
1 day to get to 60 faction fame. You are clueless.

Grim,
It really sounds to me you just want this game to have a "Jyudas" faction. That anything that does not fit into your characters plans or causes your character difficulty should be changed. I think we agree on the fact that we both would like to see mechanics open up for a greater diversity of opinion and possibility. I just think it should be open to everyone.
It seems to me you are asking for a group that mirrors every single thing your heart desires. What about pirates, what about denominations of the existing factions, the black circle, slavers, what about moonies and Kitin worshipers?
What concerns me is creating a group that is so popular that 95% of the population will choose it. I strongly believe that is what would happen if Nevrax/GF follows your suggestions. Taking the religious and philosophical conflict away would remove a lot of the appeal. Who is not going to pick self determination?
I am guessing most people will pick a Han Solo type play style over playing the part of storm trooper #387. It may not be the most appealing thing to play a clog in the machine, but that does not mean that is the way it will always be.
If you want to play the part of technologically inferior resistance. I would propose that you should actually be at a technological disadvantage.

I did 1 to 40 in 4 hours, my guildmate did the "grind" from 50 to 60, got all his TPs and returned in less than 24 hours.
If it takes more than a day it doesnt take _much_ more.
EDIT: and this was after temple guards were fixed, so using only bandit/tribe killing missions. I believe he had help from 2-3 other high level characters. But its not _hard_.

Wow,
I suppose this is post guard killing. I am sure there a few young faction fame hunters that would like to know how you did that. Anyway I stand corrected, thanks for the info.

Just involves TPing between bandit/tribe mission givers in rotation, there is no "down time", just do all high fame missions then move onto the next one. You need skills that give you XP for as many of the bandit kills as possible cos you get more fame that way. Keep doing the circuit, hitting each "Welcomer" at each TP you can do easily, the higher level ones (Red are best for neutrals) seem to give the most fame. By taking the missions and splitting your team to go after each camp for the low level ones you can do the camps faster (possibly multiple times waiting for repop if not everyone completes their mission on the first camp wipe).
Needs a good knowledge of the tribes, camps, and fighting groups of homins. It's also tiring.
Avoid tribe mission givers, as they give less Kami/Kara fame than the official TP welcomers.
But others know the details better than me, those are just the basics. Neutrals have had to learn a few tactics.
Oh, and pay me enough and I may consider helping people grinding fame.

danolt wrote:Stuff like this is how I hope the game turns out. I am not opposed to the rise of a 3rd faction, I just want to see scenarios presented where players have the ability to create it, not an expansion pack. I am fairly certain that in plot line a Homin based faction will arise. I would prefer it was earned not implemented as a hastily announced patch.
I agree.
Dont just give it to us, make us work for it. And let us work for it hard.
Edit, wow watch another thingy and suddenly all kind of replies...

Personally I think neutral -should- be the hardest part. The mainstream should follow the K's, and should not be neutral. Doesnt mean them to be written out of game tho...
