Its always been the case and IS the same in all regions that 1 high lvl harvester can dig non stop and actually dig enough to negate the kami tolerance regen and actually move it downwards very slowy. This is how its been and acting exactly how the GMs/Devs expect it to behave.
I do not completely agree. If you are not GREEDY, and use all gentle actions in your extract a solo harvestor in an area does not bring the Kami Tolerance down at all. I ahve proven this multiple times over the past 3 days since the patch on Thursday.

The KT was 0 within hours of the Patch in the GoC Amber/Seed area SE of the Kami TP near the road. Everyone sees this and leaves. I have found the KT regenerted to about 1/4 and been the only digger in this time using all gentle. I get 2-3 less mats, but I can dig much longer. Now if I could only convince the others to use gentle I do not beleive we would have much of a problem.

I think this pretty much hits it on the head. The spot that contains the amber and seed is nearly always at 0. Why? There are multiple people leveling their jewels atm. I know of people that cover pretty much all the time zone (American, European, Australian) and they all dig FF. So we have an area thats being torn up for mats almost 24 hours a day. I know, that about 4-5 days of the last week, I've been in there with these friends pulling about 2k-4k mats. Now add that to all the others who dig in that spot such as amp crafters, and its not surprising the KT is always low. but again, it should be! its overharvested! Thats why the KT is there in first place

Kami tolerance is fine ATM. It might suck big-time if we had 5 times the current player base...

So I vote for no change (which ever opton in the poll that is).

Jena is coming to save us from the Kami... Kami Tolerance won't be an issue for long.

Then the Karavan can strip mine Atys until there is nothing left but ash and kitin droppings.

I hope there's something we can craft with those mats by then.

For the record, I voted "smite me more" but that's only because I hadn't really considered Ryzom's casual players when I cast my vote. The person who can only log on for an hour or so at random times, due to having a real life (unlike most of us) is probably going to suffer more from the kami tolerance than anyone else.

The thing is, everyone, casual player or hardcore player, is likely to take the easy spots while they last, and only move to the hard to get to spots when the kami tolerance is gone in the easy spots. The hardcore player will find the time to move on to the riskier spots, he'll have taken the time to locate, map, and study the areas, and he'll not be blowing his entire gametime just trying to get set up to dig.

The person who only has an hour to play, is likely to find this whole process to be a game killer. Unlike our powergamer, he's just about got the time to reach a safe spot from a teleporter and start his grind. However, even though his hour or so of digging will not measurably affect the kami tolerance, the fact that other players with more time on their hands have already been digging there for hours sometimes means Mr "I've got a busy real life" casual player isn't going to be able to spend even 15 minutes digging there....

So far, I haven't seen any posts that address the issues that the kami tolerance might cause for the casual player. Yet I know the devs are interested in retaining casual as well as hard core customers.

Just something to consider.
