Firstly, I make enough money selling my crafted items to NPC (not for resale) so when I hunt in a team I very rarely loot I allow others to do that who may not be harvesters or crafters. So I do not consider myself greedy. But you do need money for tp tickets and now food for packers.

Secondly, I'm not complaining about the system, I'm not even using the new selling system. And the only one I can think of who is complaining is the person who started this thread because they could not buy an amp.

Thirdly, why would I want to drive to change something that does not even worry me.

Don't idley complain there aint enough room for your goods, demonstrate it, fill them shops up, show the GMs you need more room, show them the current system is inefficient. At the moment, there appears to be plenty of room in the stores, no one's using the market so there isn't a priority on this aspect of the game, so why rush out and change it??

I may have misread things but I thought this game was aiming to be player driven so, start driving rather than sitting in the backseats complaining.

*I'm so gonna regret that one!

Mephisto

Personally, I do not use the new selling system not because it does not have enough room for what I make but because it attaches the makers name to the items that are sold for resale. And from what I have read in these posts others feel the same way. If they were to remove the makers name then I would start to use the new selling system again.

If the makers names where removed and the amount of items that you could sell for resale increased don't you think there would be too many players items for sale for the amount of available customers.

Also when guild wars kick in, why would high level crafters want to sell to a member of a guild that their guild is at war with. If the names are removed from items for resale I would still not sell for resale if guild wars are present within the game as you would be likely to supply a potential enemy.

However, if a high level crafter was not in a guild then they could supply to everybody.

Another problem with games that use a money system is that as players progress money becomes easier to obtain and therefore less meaningful.

lol funny that you find it a problem that your name is on it. because i like it alot.
and i most of the time, unless i have to. always buy my stuff at the shop. hardly ever from the players directly.
why? because i find it a waste not to use such a nice system. and because i dont want to be bothered asking arround whenever i need to buy a new weapon.
neither do i like to be pmed(not that that happens alot) and if people would really use this system there would be no need for it. even though your name is on it . and if people do pm you. then tell em to buy it in the shop and not to pm you. simple no. its a matter of adapting to the system. but it seems alot of people refuse to adapt.

There is no point adapting to a system in a game that you do not need to use. These days I do not buy mats. or sell mats for resale (as I craft with all the mats. I harvest) and the mats I do sell on occassions to NPC's are from mobs that I have killed.

Now ok you like the system, but that does not mean it suits everyone. Now on occassions I get tells asking for money which, is a pain but also as I have said before I have no interest in becoming a well known crafter being bombarded with tells to craft something.

Now you might like your name plastered everywhere but not everybody does, but the bottom line is it's not so much to do with the selling system but the tells that can result from it.

If you craft word gets round regardless, of NPC sales.

If you craft something and give it someone else ..... then thats the end of it .... once you go over lvl 140+ and give it to someone else ... the tells start.

I sold to merchants, I advetised in the bazzar ..... I gave stuff to people !

Until you hit a market area that has limited numbers of crafters, very few people will bother you. Ql150 was the point when I started getting the flood tells, and you only need to tell one person for the trouble to start. With or without you name on it! people need the stuff they will chase you down :P

I have a number of reason for closing my public crafting.......

The key one is stability of craft ... till I have flat leveled the branches ... the time+effort vs any amount of dapper is not worth while.

There is one question that springs to mind looking at this thread

What is the benefit of having a crafters name against an item for sale?

I do not see any real benefit to it.

It's an advertisement, it allows people to pick and choose who they want to buy from. If I was buying something I would not worry to much about if it's 100% excellent mats or not. I would be interested if the spec. meets my requirements and cost.
