It's not insulting -- but I do feel like I've been suckered a little to be an early adopter ;p
I would have saved myself $110 (or $50) if we could have tried the game for free for two weeks to decide whether not we liked it, and if we did like it, it only would have cost $30 each + monthly subscription fees.

Actually, this is what I meant by a previous post of mine about adding insult to injury.

How so, the $45 bought you and actual boxed set CD, with whatever manual is available. $29. buys a download on free trial.
Buddy Trial is dig up a box set for from $29 to $45 OR pay out the equivalent of $60 at the end of the period to keep playing.
Now if anyone should be feeling a bit upset....

Everyone was offered a chance to get a free month if you signed someone else up. That saves you about $15. That is about the difference in cost for the people to download for $29 verses others who bought it for $45. It's about the same price so noone is getting shafted here.
Yes new players get a free amount of time to play, if you are going to fuss about that, then you should speak to every other online game because they all do the same thing and we all know this going in. Like it or not, that's marketing for you and necessary at that. If you are looking for 2 free weeks, then maybe you shouldn't play a beta, but wait for it to come out and buy it to get your two free weeks. However, that's 2 weeks less than what you received when you bought the game, plus a free month if you got someone on the buddy program, but hey, what's 2 months compared to 2 weeks.

The beta was free. If you did not make the beta, you could of read on the forums about the buddy program. I am sure someone would of been more than happy to hook you up so they could save a month.

again...the guy that is on the 2 week free trial with the buddy program is the one getting hit the hardest, unless they are offering him the same $29.95 sign up deal as the free trial offer. So far I have yet to find any signs of that happening.

To the best of my knowledge:
Early players got a free 1 month if they got a buddy to sub from the buddy program.
buddy program didn't give away anything. 2 weeks buddy program + cost of game + 2 free weeks + sub
free trial - if they want to keep their characters from the 2 week trial they have to play cost game + 2 weeks free + sub
Everything is equal.
Early players also got a free week becuase of lag issues.
So the winner is:
Early subscriber who got a friend to sub using the buddy program!
game cost (1 month free + 1 week free + 1 month free buddy program) + subs
Woot to Nevarx for playing it fair and rewarding the loyal.
