If you bothered to read the reply that Meloner gave me too that - you will see he says to ignore the *sarcasm* - which would lead one to believe that the word "precious" was used in a sarcastic context.

Using freudian terms, our ego may control our baser desires and have peeps acting all polite and stuff but the id is still screaming "Hey, I want my share". When you are a "have", the most common response is "what is everyone all upset about ?" ..... the historical "let em eat cake" argument. When one is on the other side, te proverbial "shoe being on the other foot". it's amzing how fast attitudes change.
I love cats :D It's so exciting to levelup amuzingly fast after that no cats way till 247 :D
But i think that from some point of view it could be more fair to remove them atall and if such decision will be ever made i will not say no. Anyway they looks somehow weird like when someone gets double salary only becouse he wears "that symbol not other symbol". And ppl who get cats not sure... for example me when i get cats cause me or guild leader ask for them - i don't feel like its result of my achievements :( but their sweet taste makes these feelings go away till i have what to activate :D

IMHO if ops would dig not cats bug just ordinary (basic/fine/choise) resources of that territory op reside it would be more good decision helping in game than those weird cats (as always talking about myself - so boring to dig 2100resources to get next 5lvls in only one branch of crafting) :D still think it will take atleast 6months to master la crafting or more :(

Yes, I wouldn't mind being able to set it to just dig craft mats but that's kinda teh same as letting cats work on Craft Skill only. OTOH, alliances could make minor guilds uber craft sources as it don't take much effort to sit at the raw mat dealer and craft any skill to 100 in about an hour. With OP's producing mats, could probably do 250 in a long weekend.

That's true, but that big uber drilling mashine makes me feel like i will get lots of resources of this land not some strange green skulls coming from unknown place :D

Think the craft and forage level up too slow, think hard place of crafting/forage must be not numbers, but process, process to locate and dig what u need in forage and process of crafting (with possible errors and failures or even occasional boosts) in craft.

Cats are overrated unless you're overcrafting. :D

So the other day Doc and I were out hunting jabs. He would affy pull two at a time and then swat 'em with circular attack while I healhealhealhealed him. I'd sit while he ran to pull the next pair, and he'd back heal me as needed.

Result: 6k XP per pull, just like using cats. :)

They just aren't needed if you are creative and have a well-balanced team. Obviously, these sorts of things won't help much with crafting...

OTOH, my solo grinding of Ele is progressing glacially... especially when I fall asleep at the wheel while sitting to regen sap...

But on the whole, I'm quite happy to be cat-free.

I can't agree with the "just like" cause if you were using cats, that would be 12k. And a team next to you pulling one at a time, all things being equal, would still go faster.

Having a well balanced team is key to efficient progression. A team of 3 who stays within 3 levels or so of one another can really rock. Let's say you already have one master and are working up secondary skills. You reach level 175 and can no longer solo w/o sitting and have 2 friends at level 188. Using cats so you can catch up a bit,... you should get to 200 about the same time.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not promoting a "pro cats" position. But given the limitations on supply, if I'm gonna use cats, I am gonna use them for crafting simply to save me the drudgery of digging more and more mats while my dig levels have been maxed out for what seems like forever.

I don't really understand the "rush" to get to 250 in melee and magic skills other than "the circle", ..... said term being defined as:

"I need to get more levels so I can better defend our OP so I can continue to get cats so I can continue to get more levels so I can better defend...."

I'd be happy to see cats work only on crafting or to have cats work for say "up to 10% of levels (25) max" in each skill tree. If we take cats out completely, I'd hope to see something to negate the endless nights of "mat collection".
